This is a bespoke Shepherd's Hut designed for a couple or a singles, set in a 12 acre ornamental garden with Sea Views & Lakes. Close to beaches, Golf, Fishing, and the attractive seaside village of Portpatrick, ferry to Belfast & Larne (6 ) at Cairnryan. Stranraer ( 7) miles with all facilities. In the cooler months the wood burner heats up, and wood provided. Dogs can be off leash on Moorland.. The space lovely Shepherd's Hut with a single space with 1 queen bed, set in 12 acres of renowned 4 star Ornamental Gardens, with seats and walkways, and views across Luce Bay to the Mull of Galloway, with a 17 acre Moorland Walk where you can walk your dog off lead. The Hut has its own space above for dining & BBQ enclosed for privacy. If you are a horticulturalist , Golfer, Fisherman or Hill Walker or Star Gazer Galloway Forest is the place. Or just plainly want to get away from it all you have found the right spot. Guest access The Gardens are free to guests who are welcome to meander in and sit, with seats and walkways. Wildlife abounds with red squirrels, peacocks and fish in the lochs, together with wild ducks. Birdlife may be observed including yellow hammers on the Moorland Walk . The Garden Tearoom caters for garden visitors and is open 10-5pm daily with breakfast, lunch & teas with home baking and fresh produce, and is endorsed by Visit Scotland's 'Taste your best award'. On arrival first day, Tessa provides breakfast essentials as a Starter Pack, but after that guests should provide their own. AS the space for a fridge is very small, Tessa will accommodate anything in a designated fridge or freezer, at the House, should this be required. Please ask on arrival. The Tearoom is open at 10 and closes at 5pm daily during 1st April or Easter whichever comes first and closes on 30th September. Other things to note Please be aware we do not have A charger for electric cars. The nearest charger is at the garage at Castle Kennedy 6 mins away. Please note that we have WIFI at the main house, but at present it is unavailable in the Hut. Guests are welcome to come to the house if they need to Use WIFI. We have extra fridge space in the house if needed, and drying facilities at house. Wood is provided for the log burner. Due to space the fridge in the hut is small. The Shepherds Hut can only sleep a single person or a couple as there is only one comfy Queen bed. We allow 2 small or one large dog. However the Hut rule is dogs must not be allowed on the bed so please bring their own bedding. Please note at the time of writing we have 1 peahen and 5 Free Range silky hens so please mind your dogs. We have a 20 acre Moorland walk at the top of the garden and you are welcome to let your dog (s) off lead there is a Forestry Wood down below for walks. Luce Bay and the Beach are close by
