Enjoy the natural luxury of 40 hectares of pristine tropical rainforest, crossed by crystal clear rivers, magical waterfalls and a paradisiacal beach exclusively for our guests. Our facilities are built in local wood on a 20-meter hill facing the sea, with a privileged view of the Pacific Ocean. We have a guest house with 3 bedrooms and a separate cabin, surrounded by lush vegetation. The space 3 bedrooms located in a comfortable cabin built with wood from the region, with two dining rooms, two bathrooms, deck overlooking the ocean, garden and hammock. Also Atelopus private cabin with private bathroom and balcony overlooking the garden and the sea. The facilities are powered by hydroelectric power and perfectly drinkable water from the streams. The private beach and streams provide the tranquility and ideal setting to enjoy inspiring landscapes. Guest access Food The food service has an additional cost per day, per person. Local cuisine with incomparable flavor. Includes 3 meals a day (vegetarian options) and a coffee and snack station. Activities and experiences El Amargal as a Nature Reserve has attractions, hiking and exclusive experiences. We are a strategic site for whale watching, surfing and diving. From July to October you can see the whales from your room and our dining rooms! We also offer 9 Fauna and Flora trails, 7 waterfalls, a visit to the Hot Springs, a descent of the Arusicito River in a traditional canoe, a Giant Trees trail, a Prehistoric Plants trail, artisanal fishing trips to Cabo Corrientes, a visit to the communities, sighting of poisonous frogs, AND MUCH MORE!!!! CONTACT US During your stay The host is on the property. Other things to note Visiting El Amargal is being part of our mission to conserve biodiversity and natural resources in the Gulf of Tribugá. At the Reserve we offer beer, mecatos and signature cocktails with viche, which is a distillate of sugar cane, ancestral to the Colombian Pacific. Some recommendations on what to bring for your stay with us are (per person): a flashlight, waterproof bag for cell phone or camera, sunscreen, hat, insect repellent (although there are almost no mosquitoes), long-sleeved shirt and pants for walks in the jungle and a waterproof jacket. For jungle walks, we can lend you swamp boots (we have sizes 35, 37, 39, 40, 41 and 44) or you can bring trekking shoes. Finally, since El Amargal is a Nature Reserve and the municipality does not provide a waste collection service, we ask that you take any solid waste that you bring to El Amargal, such as food packaging, batteries, water bottles, personal hygiene product containers, other plastics, etc., back to the city for proper disposal.
