This can be your home away from home in historic Old Town Florissant. Safe neighborhood close to highway 67 and 270 to access all St. Louis has to offer. Walk to highly-rated restaurants, pubs, and charming shops. Lots of opportunities for spiritual recharging and recreation, as well. Close to Lambert International -- leave your car parked here while you travel. This home does have steep stairs at the entry. This is a two story home that has been divided into two units. This listing is for the upstairs space ONLY which includes 1 bedroom, a bathroom, living room, and kitchenette. This is a second floor space, there are 16 steps from front door to living space. It is an old house so the steps are narrow and steep. The entrance to each unit is separate and interior spaces are separated by locked doors. The only space you will share is outside (parking/yard). If you are interested, there are separate AirBnB listings for the downstairs two bedroom or whole house of 3 bedrooms. The house has easy access to Lindberg (67) and Interstate 270. There is free parking behind the house in our private drive and also adjacent free street parking. The immediate neighborhood is walkable, easy to bike, and golf carts are allowed. Please feel free to text or call if you need anything. We want you to enjoy your visit as much as we do! Welcome! This home is located on historic Rue St. Francois, all the charms of Old Town Florissant are at your door. Across the street is the highly rated Amore Pizza & Pasta, a few blocks north is the City Diner, voted ‘Best Breakfast in St. Louis’ thanks to its delicious food and friendly service, and a few blocks to the west is well known Hendel's. New dining experiences within blocks also include Made by Lia, Henke’s and Red Oven Pizza. Also in walking distance are local watering holes Bunker’s Tavern, B.J.'s bar, and the Smoke and Sip cigar lounge. The VFW Post 4105 is also directly across the street and open to the public. If you have a sweet tooth, Florissant is the perfect place for you with a plethora of award winning and historic bakeries and donut shops, at least four in a half-mile radius. Shop to your heart (and wallet’s) content at the affordable boutiques like Dooley’s, Antique Marketplace, and Korte's. Feed your spiritual side with a walk at the Ferdinand Shrine, admiring the beauty of Sacred Heart church, or attending any of the other many religious spots in this tight-knit community. This is the perfect spot for enjoying the Valley of Flowers parade, the summer band events, and the Fall Festival, many can be seen from the living room window. It makes for a comfortable space to prepare for weddings within walking distance (Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Old Town Wedding Chapel). Visitors of local hospitals and nursing centers can enjoy peace and quiet to recharge while staying close to their loved one. Although this house is located on a commercial street it backs up to a residential area. This neighborhood is a safe, beautiful and peaceful place to walk or jog. The scenery includes majestic trees and century old homes restored to their original beauty. Nearby St. Ferdinand Park (about 1 mile away) also has plenty to do with a playground, sand volleyball court, pickle ball courts and fishing pond. Early flight out of Lambert International? Park your car here and enjoy a relaxing night before your trip. Plentiful CVS and Walgreens means you can stock up on those, “Oh shoot, we forgot it” items. Although there is plenty to do within the neighborhood you are also close to all the action St. Louis has to offer. A short drive to the metro link at UMSL station will take you a Cardinals game, Union Station, or the downtown vibe on Washington. This historic home is located in a business district with street noise as well as occasional noise from nearby bars. There are also two units in this old home so sometimes noise can carry between the units, this is why we request that guests respect quiet hours within the home between 10pm and 9am. We have a kitchen area in the home and have left breakfast supplies to make waffles, oatmeal, or grab a granola bar to go.
