Description
The Zaid garden is a family run household of me, my wife and our two children - 3 & 5 years old, with permaculture farm. We only rent out full pension. Breakfast, lunch and dinner we offer for 15€ per person and day. Vegetarian or vegan good can be prepared, just let us know before. The meals we ask you to pay for once you are here and in cash. The house is big with spacy rooms on huge land surronded by palm trees. There's even a live band playing some nights. The space The Zaid garden was founded by my father in the 1940's. After I took over the farm I named it in honor to my father Zaid. He created a date farm oasis, which brings until today huge amounts of dates from the trees he planted. And my wife's specialty, is cooking a delicous date sirup from those dates for breakfast. The house is huge, because it was planned to have space for the whole big family. Around the house there is a lot of farming land with many palm trees, providing shadow against the hot sun. As my guests always say and I can also admit, my wife is an excellent cook of authentic berber meals. During your stay you will be bound to taste the fine kitchen, with every day, freshly homemade bread from a kley oven. Sometimes we have a local nomad band in our house playing music. You are invited to participate playing, dancing or just listening. On days without the band we play music on our own with traditional insturments, drums, banjo and guitar. Guest access You are welcome in my house as it were your house. You can use the fridge at any times. Although you don't need to care about food. There will be always 3 meals a day with all the people from the house. We have also a washing machine and hamam free to use. From the rooftop you have a beautiful view on the landscape and a georgous sky at night full of stars. If you wish, you can sleep on the roof watching the stars while falling asleep. During your stay I'm usually always around the house, if I'm not on a camel trip in the desert. I enjoy very much talking, sharing stories or playing music with my guest. This is my way of "traveling", I explore cultures by meeting them in my own house. An experience my guest and I like, is to go on a camel trip to the Sahara. It is a unique, beautiful but also a harsh place, due to the weather conditions. And a good opportunity to share the knwoledge about Sahara, history and culture. Other things to note Usually in my house I have some voluntaries staying, which help out with the work on the farm and home. If you wish you can also help out with some projects, there's always something to do :-) I can host big groups of people in my house. I have hosted and cooked 3 meals for about 35 people at once. If you plan to come with a big group, please let me know in advance, so I can arrange food and accomodation.
