The little old house by the sea

'Smiðjan' the Smithy has been lovingly restored focusing on original aesthetics and comfort. It is situated at the edge of a small industrial area where you can enjoy absolute privacy and not worry about neighbours. The large attic windows provide a perfect platform to view the northern lights and stunning views. Smiðjan is almost a 100 year old house on the shores of the little fishing village Dalvík in the north, with views of spectacular mountains and valleys where hiking is at your doorstep The space Smiðjan is not suitable for young children or people with mobility restrictions as the staircases are very steep and have not got adequate protection around the opening of them. Guest access All house is available. Three levels and five beds for sleeping. WiFi modem is in the kitchen and is kept recharged with unlimited usage by the host. The washing machine is available for use. We are happy to let you use the guitar and key board provided you look after it. Information about these things and others will be in a folder in the house. Other things to note Dalvík is an excellent place to make a base for exploring the north, Akureyri, Mývatnssveit, Dettifoss etc. or to the west Ólafsfjörður, Siglufjörður and beyond. This is where you take the ferry to Grímsey where you can cross the arctic circle. There are horse riding facilities, whale watching tours and organised hiking tours. Dalvík has ski lifts just up the road and is between the major skiing areas of Siglufjörður and Akureyri. Registration Details HG-00003130
