Unobstructed view - Cabin
Blickinsfreie - Cabin
Description
Our old 2-story barn was used as a chicken coop and workshop until the 2000s. After renting out a vacation apartment, the Blickinsfreie Loft, in our old factory since 2018, I decided to turn the barn into an individual but above all minimalist accommodation that you don't come across every day - glamping at its best! ARD was recently a guest for a #roomtour - feel free to check out ARD! The space THE BLICKINSFREIE CABIN On the ground floor of the cabin is the everyday area of life with kitchenette, dining and sink as well as a quaint living area with fireplace, which can also be separated from the front part of the barn by the heat protection curtain. There is also an old but usually unbalanced piano available for climbing. The powerful fireplace makes the living area of the cabin cozy and warm on cool days. The sleeping loft, which has only recently received an update, is located directly above the stove and can also be heated with the floor flap open. I'll provide wood, of course. Attention: The operating instructions of the oven are available on site and are mandatory for safe use! Of course, you will also receive a short briefing from me. The kitchen area has a professional 2 flame gas stove, small fridge, kettle as well as simple dishes & cooking equipment. Of course, this also includes oil, salt and pepper but also some herbal tea from our garden. If you have always wanted to wash your dishes like in the old days, you will get your money's worth with our old sink with 2 enamel bowls. Hot water is available via the outdoor shower, so you can wash dishes like 100 years ago. The rustic sleeping floor extends over half of the barn floor area. Frequently asked by guests: Bed linens, slippers, and bath towels are provided on site. The beds are fully made up, each equipped with pillows, duvets, and 2 warm sheep's wool blankets for those who need extra warmth. A special highlight is our hot water outdoor shower, which invites you to enjoy showering in the open sky behind the cabin. A sustainable compost toilet is available, which works with sawdust. Drinking water is connected to the outdoor shower as well as the large sink next to the terrace. The terrace as well as the large garden invite you to socialize. Guest access IMPORTANT NOTES WHEN BOOKING IN WINTER (November - May) Due to the powerful fireplace installed in the barn in 2019, I can also rent our cabin to adventure enthusiasts in winter. Nevertheless, I would like to briefly address the special features of a use between November and May. The barn is not insulated and therefore has 2 thermal insulation curtains: once at the entrance area and once to separate the living area around the stove. The front part of the barn, where the kitchenette is located, is only indirectly heated. Of course, the barn also heats up completely through the oven, but the kitchen area / entrance area and the sleeping floor only get warm on average. The living area with couch, table, armchairs and piano also gets cuddly warm at -10 degrees, but the oven must be stoked all day. Continuous heating of the stove in winter is therefore important. For the nights or day trips, wood briquettes are available, so that even through the night or in the absence, the embers never go out. In winter, I provide 2 warm Bulgarian sheep wool blankets per bed, which also keep guests warm during the night on the highest hut in the Balkans (Ivan Vazov 2300m above zero). The modern communal bathroom including shower and toilet is located on the ground floor of the main house in the months of November to May and is about 20 meters away. If necessary, the used dishes can also be washed directly in the shared bathroom in the winter. Recently, a dishwasher was also purchased for the common room in the house. CITY TAXES The city of Schöneck charges tourist tax and has completely digitized the billing, so the accommodations are no longer allowed to accept the spa tax directly from the guest. In order to make it easy for guests to handle, WELCMpass has been introduced. Payment and guest bonus use works comfortably digitally via smartphone. The tourist tax is 2.00 euros per adult & stay day and for children/adolescents aged 6-18 each 1.00 euros per day of stay. Arrival & departure days count together as one day according to the tourist tax statute of the city of Schöneck. I will send the link for comfortable registration and payment along with the booking confirmation. The registration and payment of the tourist tax must be made at the latest by arrival and proven to us. Thank you! I wish you a pleasant stay and pure relaxation already. I'm always available for any questions you may have. With gratitude, René Eckert
