Stob Ban is a fabulous stone built house with accommodation set over two floors. This luxury lodge is perfect for larger groups of up to eight guests, offering spectacular views across the Tay. Stob Ban also benefits from a private south-facing deck with fabulous views over the Loch and exclusive use of a private hot-tub. There’s no excuse not to step outside during your stay! Licence No. PK12628F The space The house has four comfortable bedrooms, with a mix of King and Super King beds with Hypnos mattresses to stretch out in. Three of the rooms have their own en-suite bathrooms, and there’s also a separate bathroom and toilet upstairs, plus an extra shower room and toilet downstairs. Downstairs, you’ll find an open-plan space complete with record player and records that brings the kitchen and living room together — perfect for cooking, chatting and hanging out. The kitchen opens straight onto a big deck with lovely views over Loch Tay, and the hot tub sits just beside it. Below the deck is a grassy garden that’s ideal for kids or dogs to run around and burn off some energy. We offer Wifi access via Starlink - super fast broadband in the middle of nowhere. We also offer a travel cot + high chair - please let us know if you would like the cot made up. Guest access You are available to use the entire space. Other things to note Record Player Please help yourself to the records in the side board in the lounge. No need to adjust the settings on the system, it is pre-programmed. The turnstile has an on switch on the side, take the record out of the sleeve, turn the deck on and turn on the amp - enjoy. The same system can be used for bluetooth audio - just search Rotel. Kitchen & Appliances Oven & Hob: Standard electric controls Dishwasher: Tablets provided under the sink Coffee Machine: Pods are provided in your starter pack, if you need more then Co-Op in Aberfeldy stocks them. Fridge & Freezer: Please ensure the door is fully shut If anything isn’t working as expected, just let us know. Hot Tub Your exclusive, private hot tub overlooks Loch Tay—ideal for sunrises and sunsets. Exploring the Area Walks from the Door Kenmore Beach Walk – gentle stroll with stunning views Acharn Falls – 15 minutes away, waterfall, forest and viewpoints Ben Lawers – for hikers wanting a Munro challenge, you can also easily ‘bag’ Beinn Ghlas along the way (2 for 1). Kenmore Hill - can be walked from Kenmore or drive to the car park. Drummond Hill - hike up until you reach the lookout for awesome views. Schiehallion - where they invented contour lines. Be sure to buy a bottle of Schiehallion (beer) and crack it open at the top. Beware of the false summits. Local Dining Here are some of our favourites Near-ish… The Grandtully Hotel, Grandtully - trendy gastro style exceptional food. Worth booking in advance. Glen Lyon Post Office, Glen Lyon - a post office but most importantly an amazing tea room with home baked cakes. Check their page for opening hours. Best combined with a hike in Ben Lawers. Glen Lyon Coffee Roasters, Aberfeldy - the home of excellent coffee. Usually only open during the week, extremely popular with locals and hikers. The Ferryman Inn, Taymouth Marina, Kenmore - a stone’s throw from the cottage, serving crowd pleasers like burgers + pizzas. Worth booking as can be very popular. The views are worth it, the food is ok. Ailean Chraggan, Aberfeldy - very tasty highland cuisine. Thyme Bistro, Errichel, Aberfeldy - excellent for a spot of breakfast and great evening food. The Inn on the Tay, Grandtully - good hearty highland food. Moulin Inn, Pitlochry - everything that you could ever wish for in a pub - brewing on site, pub classics and a great walk nearby. Highland Safaris, Dull - very exciting, not dull. Good cafe food, not a bad place to take kids - very interactive. Checheks, Aberfeldy - incredibly tasty Persian cuisine. Aberfeldy Watermill Cafe, Aberfeldy - pretty standard cafe but amazing selection of books. Further afield…. Aran Bakery, Dunkeld - arrive early to not be disappointed, great baking. Wasted Degrees Brewing, Blair Atholl - excellent tap room and pizzas seasonally. The Taybank, Dunkeld - super chic restaurant with amazing outside seating area - head across in the sun and check to see if they have outdoor cinema happening. Takeaway If you’re wanting some easy food… Must Eat, Aberfeldy (kebabs + pizzas) Chillies, Aberfeldy (Indian) Plaice in the Square, Aberfeldy (chippy) Groceries & Essentials Kenmore Village Shop by Ballintaggart - just a few doors down from the cottage. An excellent selection of very nice items, stock up for your picnic. The Courtyard Shop, Kenmore - head across the bridge and you’ll find the campsite shop. A wide selection of very nice food. Co-Op, Aberfeldy - a well stocked medium sized co-op. Activities Nearby we have excellent activities to keep everybody entertained during your stay with us: Golf - easy access at the Mains of Taymouth for a nice 9 hole course Swimming - jump in the Loch or hike around to the river. Both freezing but feel great. Further afield you can hike to Balnaguard Falls. The waterfall is extremely powerful and if you’re feeling brave you can stand underneath. Sauna - book a slot in the biggest sauna that you have ever seen at the Hot Box in Taymouth Marina. Outside is a huge hot tub, or just use the hot tub in the cottage… White Water Rafting - there’s a couple operators in Aberfeldy - Splash White Water Rafting / Nae Limits (further afield). Both are seasonal - give them a call to see what is happening on the river. Hiking - lots of munro’s nearby. Some suggestions above. It’s best to check a full list on Walk Highlands. Leave plenty of time for daylight hours, check the weather and carry supplies - the hills can be dangerous. Whisky - book a tour at Dewars in Aberfeldy.
