The space The Alfermann Stone Cottage is one of several historical Residences and Lodges open to guests located at the Boone Monument Village, an idyllic 50+ acre national historical site surrounding the burial place of Daniel Boone and other early settlers. THE VILLAGE Deeply immersed in history and lore Boone Monument Village welcomes overnight visitors as it did 200 years ago when Daniel Boone, Lewis and Clark, Sacagawea, Zebulon Pike, Gottfried Duden, and other illustrious personalities roamed the homestead. ---- Just as many yesterdays ago, our guests will discover a warm and welcoming setting, offering a rustic yet refined and uncommon experience, carefully nurtured to create a deep feeling of peace and serenity. ---- The simple and quiet presence of the Village, the pastoral setting, the sparkling lake, the perfectly restored residences adorned with period antiques, and the special touches throughout, will evoke the joy and excitement of simpler days and times. ---- Our Residences and Lodges have been revered by many folks of all ages including far away travelers, Katy trail bikers, local folks pursuing a disconnect from the modern world, and especially by our couples being wed at the Village and their guests seeking unforgettable experiences and memories. ---- Hospitality: Our year-round Residences and our seasonal Lodges can accommodate up to 25 guests. While many of our guests are couples, families and couples also may rent several units, or the entire Village to celebrate together life’s most important milestones. OUR HISTORIC RESIDENCES Our historic Residences range in age from 1799 to the 1860’s and although they all share different histories, periods, and purpose, they all share the same dedication to a professional and authentic architectural and artistic restoration process encompassing the largest elements down to the most minute detail. ---- Complementing the restored structures, every space has been adorned and furnished with period appropriate antiques sprinkled with an occasional high-quality reproduction where modern function cannot be replicated by true antiques. ----- While every Residence differs in layout and function, they all share modern necessities such as full climate control, full-range lighting, bathrooms, kitchens/breakfast areas, with the partial exception of the Bryan Cabin (ca.1799), that because of its dual function as a Living History Museum and Residence, is subject to more restrictive historical and architectural covenants. ---- Function and all sensory elements in our Residences including the overall color palette, design of decorative & structural elements as well as our special touches and enhancements packages, have been carefully planned with the goal of evoking an inner sense of tranquility and contentedness, fundamental to rekindling our self, life, and each other.
