The space Welcome to our family cottage in Steenvoorde, a former farmhouse full of history where we’ve shared many wonderful moments with friends and family… and which we now open to travellers seeking authenticity, space and tranquillity. Located in the heart of the countryside, surrounded by working farm buildings and a large private car park, it’s the perfect place to unwind, gather as a group or explore the Flanders region, Cassel, Belgium or even the Opal Coast (40 min). Hiking, cycling, nature… everything here invites you to slow down and enjoy. Ground floor: a spacious and inviting living area The main living space includes: - a large dining table for 12 people, - an open-plan fully equipped kitchen (hob, oven, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, filter & Senseo coffee makers, kettle, toaster, plenty of dishes), direct access to a first terrace, ideal for outdoor meals. A perfect space to cook together, share moments, celebrate or simply enjoy warm, friendly time. Bright living room with countryside views The living room features: - 2 comfortable sofas, - several armchairs, - a television, - WiFi, open views of the garden, the second terrace and the pond. A small side table adds a perfect nook for coffee, reading or working peacefully. A separate adjoining room can serve as a children’s dining area or extend the large table for group meals. At this level, you’ll also find a shower room with sink, toilet and washing machine. The cellar houses a second fridge-freezer. Mezzanine walkway A walkway leads to: - a play area, - a piano, - a first small bedroom with a 120x200 bed (ideal for 1 adult or 2 children). First floor: 5 sleeping areas - Bedroom 2: 1 double bed (140x200) - Bedroom 3: 1 double bed (140x200) + 1 single bed (90x200) - Bedroom 4: 1 double bed (140x200) + 1 baby bed - Bedroom 5 (large room): 2 double beds (140x200) - Sleeping area 6 (landing): 1 single bed (90x200), ideal for a teenager or an extra guest. This bed is the only one that is not in a closed room. All bedrooms offer authentic charm with exposed beams and a warm atmosphere. A bathroom with bathtub, toilet and sink completes this floor. Please note: Cleaning and bed linen are included in the reservation, but you will need to bring your own towels and bath mats. Outdoors: large garden & secured pond The garden offers: - 2 terraces, - outdoor seating, - a secured pond, fields surrounding the property, the chance to spot deer and local wildlife depending on the season. A precious environment to reconnect with nature, let children play, enjoy a barbecue or relax at the end of the day. You will receive all access instructions the day before your arrival, along with our welcome guide, which can be found via a Google Drive link. A welcome form will be sent to help us better anticipate your arrival time. Other things to note Smoking is prohibited in the accommodation. Parties are not allowed. Please follow the instructions upon departure. Pets are allowed, but not upstairs.
