This house is perfect for a couple or a family with children, with a queen-sized bed in the master bedroom, and a queen-sized pull-out sofa in the living room. This one-bedroom house features a bright and open floor plan with windows on all sides to take in the valley and forest views. Take a short walk to the farm stand down the road to pick up some fresh eggs, and whip them up in the fully equipped kitchen. Relax in the cozy living room in front of a stunning fireplace built with stones from the property. The dining room, living room, and kitchen are all connected, creating a casual living space for guests to cook, eat, chat, hang out, read, play games, watch movies, or just watch the wildlife wander (and soar) through the yard. The master bedroom features comfy bedding, room-darkening curtains, and silence so you can catch up on some well-deserved sleep. The bathroom is newly updated and the shower has excellent water pressure. Outside, kick back on the wrap-around deck, help yourself to fresh vegetables growing in the garden, or go foraging in the woods. In the summer, you can barbecue on the charcoal grill or hang out by the fire pit. The yard has plenty of space for kids to run around and play, and there is a great sledding hill behind the house in the winter. Guests have access to the main floor only. The kitchen, living room, dining room, master bedroom, and bathroom are all located on the main floor. There is an upper level that is not accessible to guests. No one else will be in the house or on the property during your stay. Parking on premises. Your hosts Kathleen and Nicholas are available via Airbnb message throughout your stay to answer any questions you may have. The house is situated at the top of a mountain and surrounded by the forest. Take in the mountain view from the living room or deck with no neighbors or other houses in sight. Just a 10-minute walk down the road past a beautiful pond with more stunning Catskills panoramas is a farm stand stocked with fresh eggs, veggies, and homemade jams, according to the season. The mountains offer plenty of opportunity for hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, golfing, skiing, boarding, snowmobiling, ATVing, tubing, and boating, with a view. The house is between Belleayre and Plattekill mountains (both 20 minutes away), and Hunter and Windham are 45 minutes away. The towns of Margaretville and Arkville are 10 minutes away, where you'll find a supermarket, pharmacy, wine and liquor stores, a few restaurants and bars, and some interesting shops with plenty of local products. Roxbury is 15 minutes in the other direction where you'll find a cozy cafe serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner to locals and weekenders alike as well as a few shops carrying quirky and artistic Catskills items. There are lots of quaint little towns in the area for poking around in artist boutiques, gift shops, antique stores, farmers' markets, auctions, and flea markets. Please bring your own kiln-dried wood - you can purchase it in town at Freshtown or Speedway, or along routes 28 and 30 (people sell it in front of their houses) - The road to the house can be muddy when it rains, we recommend bringing an all-wheel drive vehicle.
