Everything for a comfortable and authentic stay. The house: Nestled in a quiet and original area, this house has been designed so that you can enjoy it as soon as you arrive. The nearest beaches are 10 minutes by car (LA ROCHELLE or ANGOULINS) and 20 minutes to Ile de Ré. After a day of hiking or cycling, you can relax in peace, in the garden, sheltered from the wind. Story: The church of SAINT-ROGATIEN is dedicated to two martyrs from Nantes (Saint-Donatien and Saint-Rogatien). Partially destroyed during the Wars of Religion, it retains its Romanesque portal and a trefoil Gothic niche. The choir was largely rebuilt at the end of the Middle Ages. A 15th or 16th century millstone, made of granite, is used as a holy water font. In 1871, the Romanesque facade, since classified as a historical monument, was topped with a bell tower where a new bell was installed. In 1884, a restoration project was drafted, which did not succeed. In 1987, the facade was restored, the western part weakened by the weather consolidated (western facade ISMH 1925).
