3 bdrm HOUSE just off Grandview Ave-Mt Washington
Description
Awesome and historic 100 year-old house 4 lots in from Grandview Avenue. Being a Pittsburgh girl at heart, I grew up in the suburbs but always had a close connection with the City of Pittsburgh, I attended Point Park College and bought/renovated my first home in the South Side in the early 1990’s. While living there that I really grew closely acquainted with city living and all of its allures. The idea of a view was always very attractive along with the walkability factor of Mt. Washington. The space Urban Chic also offered enough bedrooms to host all of our family when we want to get together and we renovated what was originally a weed patch into a secluded and private patio refuge, we fenced the yard completely, added the gravel, pavers and firepit to have a place to hang outdoors and chat. While one of the biggest selling factors was the front porch and we quickly added the rockers for people watching and to just be a part of the action, there are times when you want a little privacy too…hence the totally private patio, with recently added 8 ft fence, party lights and built a fire pit for roasting s’mores and a little ambiance! Some of the pics I added are in Oakland, where the University of Pittsburgh is, the cathedral of learning there has a first floor study area that has been ranked in the top 10 of American universities most resembling Hogwarts from Harry Potter:-) they also have the International Rooms there and they are free to tour, they are utilized classrooms set up to resemble classrooms from around the Globe with original artifacts from those countries, don't miss the Pakistan room where Michelle O'Bama was hosted in last year. Also pics from the Carnegie Museum of Art, also in Oakland-awesome dinosaur exhibit. Some are from the Grandview Avenue, there is also a beautiful church that is along your walk on Grandview, St Mary of the Mount that is stunning on the National Historic Register, there are a ton of churches up there and on Sunday AM's you will hear actual songs being played by church bells- not just a few notes, but full on 10 minute songs, it's super cool! Guest access Duquesne Incline, Tons of restaurants including Monterey Bay, Altius, Grandview Saloon, Bigham St Tavern all within walking distance, Public transport to take you to PNC Park, Heinz Field, Rivers Casino, Station Square, Paints Arena Other things to note It was crazy to me just how convenient this little neighborhood is, with beautiful architecture, churches and landmarks crammed into every corner. I hope this gives you just a little insight into the neighborhood and why we fell in love with it!
