Sunflower Cottage - Great Location - Pet Friendly

We are a short pleasant walk from playgrounds, pubs, clubs, public transport, cinema, shopping, restaurants, heritage walks and much more. We are pet friendly, offering an enclosed yard and catio for your best friends, however pets must be discussed prior to arrival. Free off street parking. Children need to be discussed beforehand due to safety awareness. There is a drop-off on back balcony; care must be taken at all times. The space This humble cottage has an interesting history as it was built on the number 1 surveyed block assigned to the new settlement of Murray Bridge. We are not 100% sure how old the main cottage is, as town planning was a little dubious however we have found a glass bottle top dating from 1886 while renovating. We are thinking the house was possibly built between 1886-1900. Before the 1900's when there was a wide dirt road outside the front of this house is where the bullock trains used to rest. One of the first Butchers shops was directly opposite which was a basic one roomed dirt floor building. The butchers shop was situated directly across the road just behind the row of houses on Mannum Road. Some historic uses for the building have included a family home, housing 14 children in the original front two rooms. The unique way the old house was planned and built consisted of two larger rooms each with two large windows and one small room which is now the bathroom. There was a fireplace with a chimney in the furthest corner of the front entrance room which most likely housed a old stove which has a small window on the outer wall. Where the red brick extension is now there was a cellar with a winding staircase. There was an outside toilet to the back right side of the main house. We are located next to the school, across from the basketball courts, two doors up from the cinema but the very best thing we enjoy doing is sitting on the back balcony watching the ever changing views towards the river. We offer a wide range of hot drinks such as teas, coffees, hot chocolate, milo as well as a drip filter coffee maker. Breakfast foods are provided which means you can cook up a good old fashioned English breakfast or just graze on a wide range of breakfast cereals. For your use while here we offer towels, shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner, toothpaste, brushes, comb, basic First Aid Kit, ECT. As well as a hair dryer, straightener and curling wand. We also have board and card games, reading material, colouring or puzzle books, and jigsaws. There is a telescope to help you take in the night skies views from the back balcony. There is a drop-off on back balcony; care must be taken at all times. Guest access Guests have solely private access to the whole of the inside of the main house, backyard, frontyard, sideyard, all gates and catio. You are free to pick the green salad, vegetables, herbs and flowers from all area of the property. Off street Parking available also if you need more secure parking we can accommodate another vehicle at the rear of the property behind a fenced gate. Adding to this there is plenty of 24 hour free street parking situated at the front and back of property. Any signed buildings: staff only, have no access. There is a drop-off on back balcony; care must be taken at all times. Please spend time with children and pets showing them the hazards of the back balcony.🙏 Other things to note Our check-in is at 4.00pm due to the large areas and intense cleaning routines. If you need to book in earlier this may incur a fee. Luggage drop off is available for free. Please let us know so cleaners can leave the house while you are in the house dropping off your luggage etc. We will contact you as soon as the cleaning is finished on your day of arrival. This means you are welcome to enter property from that time onwards. Quite often this is between 12.00-2.00pm. If you have booked an extented stay we will provide extra sheets, towels, ect.
