Private Bush Retreat - Fire Pit & Sunset Views
Description
Mawarra Retreat is a private bush escape in Clarence Town, just over two hours north of Sydney, created for romantic getaways, rest and reconnection. Whether you're a couple craving time together, friends reconnecting, or someone needing space for a creative project, Mawarra is made for unhurried days and easy evenings. Tucked among the trees with wide open sky above, it's a place where the noise drops away and days slow to birdsong and shifting light. Well behaved dogs are welcome to join you. The space Autumn and winter at Mawarra have their own kind of quiet. The air sharpens, the light softens, and the bush settles into something slower. The gas fireplace warms the living room while the bath becomes an even better ritual when the air outside is cool. The fire pit is back in season, so evenings can stretch out under the stars with woodsmoke and the valley going dark around you. The home has a warm, calming feel from the moment you step inside. Natural textures, soft tones and simple, thoughtful details keep everything relaxed, so your shoulders drop as soon as you arrive and the space quietly invites you to slow down. The generous deck opens straight out to the bush. In the morning it is where you take your tea, barefoot on the timber, listening to the first birds. By afternoon the egg chairs become your favourite spot, swaying gently as the breeze moves through the trees. In the evening the treetops catch the last light before the stars appear. Inside, the living area is designed for comfort without clutter, a place to curl up with a book, stretch out and talk, or simply watch the light move across the room. The kitchen is well equipped so you can cook proper meals, from an easy breakfast on the deck to a simple platter or slow dinner as the bush settles into night. The master bathroom is all about the view. The bath looks straight out across the landscape, so a long soak becomes a small ritual, warm water, cool air on your face, and the bush changing colour as the sun drops behind the trees. Throughout the home there are quiet corners made for you to pause: a chair in the right patch of sun, outdoor seating to watch the wildlife, somewhere to roll out a yoga mat and stretch, journal or simply sit and reflect. Your stay is meant to feel simple, restful and completely unhurried. Guest access Mawarra Retreat is yours for the duration of your stay. You will have full, private use of the home and the surrounding bush block immediately around it, with space to wander, sit outside and watch the light change through the trees. Other things to note Mawarra is a place for slowing down. It suits guests who are happy to trade city convenience for peace, stars and birds in the morning. If you are looking for a base to party, this is not the right fit. By Arrangement Only - Mawarra is dog friendly. Well behaved, house trained dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. To protect the space for all guests, dogs are not permitted on furniture or in bedrooms at any time. As the property is rural and surrounded by bush, please keep your dog under control at all times and be mindful of wildlife and neighbours. The retreat runs on rainwater tanks and a septic system, so we ask guests to be careful with what goes down sinks and toilets. Please be mindful of water use, and only flush toilet paper. Wipes, sanitary items, fats, oils and harsh chemicals should not go into any drains. Mawarra is set in the bush and surrounded by farmland, so wildlife is part of the landscape. You may see or hear birds, wallabies, goannas, insects and other native animals during your stay. By booking, you acknowledge that wildlife is present in the area. We are in a bushfire prone region. If the property is under threat, or local authorities issue warnings that affect your stay, we may need to cancel or shorten bookings at short notice. We will follow official advice and update you as needed. There is an outdoor fire pit for use in the cooler months. The statutory NSW Bush Fire Danger Period runs from 1 October to 31 March each year, and during this time outdoor fires are not permitted on the property. Outside this period, the fire pit may only be used when there are no fire bans in place and conditions are safe. Some firewood is provided. You are welcome to collect fallen branches from the open areas of the property, but please leave timber and logs in the bush undisturbed, as they are important habitat for native animals. If you have any specific needs around access, work set up or local activities, please reach out before booking so we can help you decide whether Mawarra is the right place for your stay. Essential items like dishwashing liquid/tablets, laundry powder, and toilet paper are provided. The kitchen is stocked with basic supplies for guests, including tea, coffee, sugar, and cling wrap, typically sufficient for a two night stay. However, milk is not included, as preferences vary. Please note that these items will not be restocked during your visit, so you’ll need to purchase more if needed. Please remember to bring your own pool or beach towels, as they are not provided. Complimentary Wi-Fi is offered by the owner, intended for appropriate use by all guests. Since the service is provided by a third party, we cannot guarantee the speed or reliability of the Wi-Fi connection, nor do we offer compensation for any service interruptions. ~Please Note~ We reserve the right to end your stay without a refund if the maximum occupancy limit is exceeded (as stated in the listing).
