Skipperhuset

🏡 Skipperhuset is the oldest house on our family farm Birkenes located in Farsund municipality. The Skipper House was built in the 19th century and has been rehabilitated several times, most recently in the spring of 2021. In collaboration with a local painting company, we are working to make the house as authentic as possible, including wallpapering the living room, kitchen and hallway with skipper house wallpaper and linseed oil paint to preserve wood, etc. The Skipperhuset has a natural place on the farm and is located wall to wall with the brewery house which has a renovated baker's oven. The space 🌳 If you visit Skipperhuset, you will have a rural experience. Here you can take short walks in the woods or down to the lake which is 3-4 minutes away. 🚤 If you want to rent a boat, we have a very safe and new Øien 620 F that is well suited for fishing and sightseeing in the area. This costs NOK 800 per day to rent. Get in touch to check availability. 🍕In addition, we can offer a unique dining experience by using the historic bakery oven that was recently renovated by a local masonry company. Here you can bake pizza in a few minutes. If you want to use the bakery oven, it costs NOK 500 to rent, including firewood and guidance in the use of the oven. ⛰️ It is also possible to walk on a small mountain peak overlooking Listalandet to the east and Korshamn to the west. Old meets new: The house has a unique history and is a real "skipper's house". It has been refurbished so that it has an authentic feel. At the same time, it is modern and with new appliances. In 2019, the following appliances/equipment were purchased for the house: Stove, microwave, fridge, freezer, toilet, smart TV, shower, vacuum cleaner and ventilation system. The house also has the best on the Internet front: fiber. In the spring of 2023, a heat pump was installed in the house, which makes renting outside the summer also a good experience Guest access Guests will have access to the whole house. Other things to note 📍Guests must bring their own bed linen and towels. (Main bed 180x210, 3 beds 120x200, 1 bed 90x200) 📍Guests clean after their stay so it's ready for new guests to come in. 📍If you are unable to bring bed linen and towels, these can be rented for NOK 130 per set. We would like to agree on ordered cleaning (NOK 1,100) and boat rental (NOK 800 per day) in advance.
