The space Enjoy a relaxed getaway with friends or family, in your own self-contained poolside wing of a classic 1970s homestead set on seven peaceful acres. The fully fenced swimming pool and its large entertaining space are for your use only and are not shared with the host. This area has the best panoramic views of the mountains from Bombay right through to the Coromandel in the distance all to yourself. Only 48kms from the Auckland International Airport, this is a perfect first stop for arriving in the country or your last stop before departing. The host occupies a separate guesthouse and another wing of the home locked off from yours, each with its own entry doors separate to yours. You will only share the driveway, a paved central courtyard, and the nearby open-air laundry area. We respect your privacy but happy to answer questions or give info on local attractions. Families are warmly welcomed, and we provide a portacot, high chair, mess mat, children’s cutlery, toys, boardgames and books. Many guests also enjoy meeting the Kunekune pig and chickens. If you’d like to visit them, simply let the host know so they can guide you to the safest access route depending on cattle grazing. Step into a true Kiwiana home, complete with original wallpaper, carpets, fixtures, and fittings that capture the charm of the era. The kidney-shaped pool adds to the nostalgic appeal. Modern conveniences include Wifi, a Smart TV, Sky TV and Movie channels. The extra-large kitchen is bright and well equipped with an oven, microwave, and fridge-freezer. The dining room features an extendable table, and the spacious lounge opens onto the pool area. Outdoors, you’ll find multiple seating options, a cantilever umbrella, and a BBQ for relaxed meals in the fresh air. Both bathrooms have their own toilet. One includes the original step-up shower stall, and the other offers a full bath. Guests are encouraged to wander with a chair or beanbag and find their own peaceful spot to enjoy the birdlife. Gardeners will appreciate the wide variety of plants, mature trees, and shrubs—occasionally you may see the host tending to the gardens or harvesting produce. Secure off-street parking for up to three vehicles is readily available, and more can be arranged with the host. There is also more space available for large trailers or equipment by arrangement with the host, which guests from the nearby racetrack have found particularly convenient. A family dog and cat live on the property. They are well loved by previous guests, and have a number of reviews under the host’s profile. Guest access Dedicated parking is provided near the entrance of the poolside wing. You will have access to your own separate accommodation.
