Our cozy cabin is the ideal Hood Canal getaway. Located in Union just a short drive from the south end of Olympic National Forest and seconds away from the shores of the Hood Canal. Our thoughtfully appointed cabin is equipped with basic essentials. Enjoy a morning coffee, tea or an evening drink on the front porch. Cannabis friendly. One pet per reservation with pre-approval only. Our family home is right next door. Your privacy is paramount but we live here and can be available if needed. This cozy and comfortable space is a perfect choice for a quaint retreat. There is a queen-sized standard bed. The space comfortably accommodates one or two adults or a small family. There is no Kitchen. However, there is a small kitchenette area where you will find very basic cooking equipment, a small toaster-oven, a single hot plate, and an electric kettle. There is a small fridge and freezer as well. No microwave. The sink in the bathroom is the only sink, it is right next to the kitchenette area and works nicely for washing dishes or basic water needs. Guests are responsible for washing their own dishes, this is included in the "House Rules". The water from the tap is very good. It comes from our private well and safe and tasty for drinking. This is a Cannabis friendly property. Our home is next to the cabin, however, your privacy will be paramount to us. We are happy to interact as much, or as little as you prefer. We ask that all guests reciprocate this respect and be mindful that this is our full-time family home. There is an electric baseboard heater for heat. There is also a wood stove which you can use if you choose to do so. Wood is not provided but available at the corner store (or any gas station) for around $5 a bundle. Please note, the bathroom is private and completely enclosed. However, there is a small cut out into the main interior room of the cabin high in the wall above the shower, this is for both ventilation and light. The cabin is your sanctuary, however, we also welcome you to enjoy our property. Guests are welcome to explore our five acres and beyond. Visit the garden or the magical fern gully nestled next to our year-round creek. We are happy to point you in the direction of some of these fun features. If you choose to explore the property please do so mindfully especially when including children or pets. We do not offer access to an outdoor fire pit or barbecue at this time. Extended stay guests will have limited access to the laundry facilities located in the garage of the main home. Please note it is necessary to contact us with at least one day notice to arrange laundry time. This will allow us sufficient time to ensure the area is tidy and any laundry we are working on is cleared away. Our home is next to the cabin, however, your privacy will be paramount to us. We are happy to interact as much, or as little as you prefer. We ask that all guests reciprocate this respect and be mindful that this is our full-time family home. This location is everything! Right across the street you will find many local amenities including a bank with 24hr ATM, post office and gym. Also across the street is the Union Deli, where you can enjoy coffee from Olympia's Batdorf and Bronson roasting company along with a selection of spirits and menu items available for dine in or take away. Cameo Boutique just down the street has a great selection of local and varied beer and wines. In Union you can enjoy live music in various locations almost every day of the week. Ask us before or during your stay where you might find some. Public water access is just two mins away. Twanoh state park is a fifteen minute drive down the scenic hwy 106. Potlatch Recreational Area is a fifteen minute drive north on the 101. Hoodsport, where you access Lake Cushman and the Olympic national forest, is just a twenty minute drive north, with another 20-30 to various recreation points on Lake Cushman. While in Hoodsport be sure to stop at the Potlatch Brewery for a refreshing sip after a long hike. Alderbrook Resort and Spa is just two mins away. Parking is available onsite for up to 2 cars. Boat or RV parking is available if prearranged. A car or other means of transportation is recommended for getting around. When not in her yard, our friendly dog Stella typically roams the property freely thanks to her radio collar. Stella is friendly, though sometimes shy, with adults, kids, and other dogs. We also have a friendly mousers, Daisy, who may likely stop by for a pet and a purrrrr. Please do not invite the kitties inside they are not properly house trained.
