Torran Cottage, Letterfearn — near Isle of Skye

Torran Cottage is a three-bedroom self-catering holiday home in Letterfearn, on the southern shores of Loch Duich, Scottish Highlands. Sleeps six, dog-friendly, with direct loch access, Starlink Wi-Fi, and a wood-burning stove. 40 minutes from the Isle of Skye, 20 minutes from Eilean Donan Castle and the Five Sisters of Kintail. Rebuilt on our family's original 1922 cottage — modern design, Highland warmth, and a fire to come back to. The space Set across a single level in Letterfearn, Scottish Highlands, the cottage sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The main bedroom has a king bed and an en-suite shower room, while the guest rooms include one with a king bed and one with twin beds. The second bathroom features a full-size bath and rain shower. The open-plan living area includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining table for eight, and large picture windows overlooking the loch. You’ll find an induction hob, oven, combination microwave-oven, dishwasher, and all the essentials for cooking at home. Outside, a patio leads to a fenced garden and direct loch access for swimming or fishing. The cottage has Starlink Wi-Fi throughout, a wood-burning stove, and plenty of books and board games for cosy evenings in. A travel cot and highchair are available on request (please bring your own cot mattress and bedding). Our bookings run Saturday to Saturday due to the availability of our cleaner. Guest access Guests have full private use of the cottage, garden, and loch access. There’s space for two cars on the lane directly in front of the cottage. The loch is just across the lane — perfect for kayaking, fishing and cold dips. Check-in is self-guided, and you’ll have the whole home to yourselves for a peaceful stay. Other things to note Torran Cottage is in Letterfearn, a small hamlet on the south side of Loch Duich — about 40 minutes from Skye and 15 minutes from Dornie. Up to two dogs are welcome (£50 per dog per week). The garden is secure, but we ask guests to keep dogs supervised near the loch. A starter supply of firewood is provided, and additional logs can be bought locally. A travel cot and highchair are available on request. Please let us know at the time of booking if you’d like to use them. Guests will need to bring their own cot mattress and bedding. The cottage is reached by a quiet single-track road, adding to its sense of peace and seclusion. The five sisters of Kintail sit at the bottom of the Loch and Eilean Donan Castle at the other end. Letterfearn is surrounded by dramatic Highland scenery, sea lochs and mountain backdrops, this is an ideal base for relaxing and re-charging or exploring the wild beauty of the west coast of Scotland. The Isle of Skye is a 40 minute drive away, famous for the Old Man of Storr, the Cullin and Quiraing ridges and the Fairy Pools. Closer to home, guests can enjoy quiet coastal and hillside walks, wildlife spotting and breathtaking views across the loch. The nearby village of Glenelg offers a traditional inn, seasonal café and access to the historic Glenelg Brochs, the Dunn Brewery, whilst the Glenelg–Skye ferry (the last turntable ferry in the world) provides a unique route across to Skye from April to October. The area is perfect for walkers, photographers, cyclists and anyone seeking space, tranquillity, and unforgettable scenery.
