3 bed cute and cosy 17th century thatched cottage

You'll be sure to relax at this cosy 17th century cottage. The cottage is full of charm with original features making this a unique holiday home. There's plenty of space for up to 4 people to stay (2 doubles & a single), a fully equipped kitchen & large garden with many mature trees & bushes. Tipton St John is the perfect Devonshire village, with a fantastic pub, a village store & a park with a pétanque field. The River Otter and its walks are minutes from the house. The space At Lavender Cottage, the front door opens directly in to the gorgeous large lounge which has two sofas, a fireplace, window seat and TV. The flooring has a bespoke tiled floor which those interested in history will find interesting. A large rug covers the seating area. This leads to the fully equipped kitchen with table and chairs. We've provided lots of pots and pans and plates and dishes so that you can cook fully meals if you want to. There's a Smeg cooker with a gas hob too. A stable door links the kitchen with a gorgeous long back garden with a table and chairs for outdoor dining. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms and bathroom. The second double bedroom and single bedroom are linked meaning that the occupants of the second double bed must walk past the single bed when leaving the bedroom. The larger double bedroom looks over the garden and has plenty of room to hang clothes. The large bathroom has a bath and a shower. This really is a character cottage and you'll find the original floorboards upstairs beautiful if slightly uneven. The stairs are steeper than in modern houses which may not be brilliant for smaller children or people who find stairs difficult. There's a brilliant pub - The Golden Lion - which serves food every evening except Mondays and lots of bars and restaurants in either Sidmouth or Ottery St Mary which are 2.5miles away. There a convenient bus into Sidmouth to access the South West Coast path walk. You'll also find excellent walks from Beer and Branscombe both within 20 minute drive away.
