Private Asari House: Otaru, Ski & Dog-Friendly

A quiet private house in the Asari area, perfect for a relaxed stay in Otaru. Well equipped with amenities and a nearby supermarket, suitable for families, groups, and long stays. Convenient access to highways, JR stations, and bus stops, making it an ideal base for exploring both Otaru and Sapporo. The space In addition to the living room, the house has two Western-style bedrooms and one Japanese-style room. A traditional pechka stove is installed, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere during winter. Many restaurants and shops are located nearby, making dining and shopping convenient. In winter, guests can enjoy skiing and snowboarding at Kiroro Ski World, Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort, and Snow Cruise Otaru. While the house does not have a hot spring bath, guests are welcome to relax at the nearby Asarigawa Onsen. Guest access All areas of the house are available for guest use, except for the staff-only linen storage and the outdoor storage shed. Please do not enter any areas marked with “No Entry” signs, as they are restricted for safety reasons. Other things to note Important Notices for Winter Stay 🔳 Accommodation Tax An accommodation tax will apply from April 2026. Due to Airbnb system limitations or changes in the number of guests, accommodation tax calculations may differ from the actual amount. Any difference will be collected or refunded at check-in. ■ Pets Dogs are generally not allowed during winter (December–March). If you wish to stay with a dog during this period, please contact us in advance. From April to November, dogs are welcome. An additional fee of ¥2,000 per dog will be charged. Pet equipment such as dog crates is installed during the pet-friendly season. Guests not traveling with pets are kindly asked for their understanding. ■ Access & Vehicles (Winter Conditions) Please note that there are steep slopes on the way from Asari Station and Route 5 to the property. During winter, road conditions can be icy and hazardous. Guests arriving by car must carefully consider their vehicle type. Rear-wheel drive vehicles (FR) may be unable to climb the slope depending on road conditions. For your safety, please do not attempt to access the property if conditions are unsafe. We are not responsible for vehicle trouble caused by winter road conditions. ■ Water Freezing Prevention During winter stays, guests are required to drain the water pipes when going to bed and when leaving the house for half a day or longer. In Hokkaido, temperatures frequently fall below freezing, and failure to drain the water may result in frozen or burst pipes. If water drainage is not properly performed and freezing occurs, repairs may not be possible on the same day due to contractor availability. In such cases, if the stay becomes impossible, no refund will be provided. ■ Snow Removal Daily snow removal is the responsibility of guests during their stay. Snow removal tools are provided. Depending on snowfall conditions, staff may assist at their discretion, but this is not guaranteed. During the winter heating season, an additional heating fee may be charged only in the event of significant increases in fuel or electricity costs.
