Gogar Farm Cottage

Gogar Farm Cottage sits in a quiet 5-acre private garden in the middle of Gogar Farm, a 3,800-acre working dairy farm. It’s a comfortable and private base from which to swim in the 20-metre pool, walk, run, or cycle around the farm. The property is conveniently located approximately 3.5 hours from Nairobi, 45 minutes from Nakuru, and just off the Nairobi–Eldoret main road. It’s ideal for anyone wanting a peaceful farm stay with easy access to nearby towns and National Parks. The space The cottage has two large bedrooms: one bedroom with a king bed, and one bedroom with a queen bed plus a king single. Each has an ensuite bathroom with both a shower and a bath overlooking the garden. Bedrooms and bathrooms use one-way glass for privacy and have mosquito-screened windows. For larger groups, an adjacent cottage with a queen bed and ensuite bathroom is available at an extra cost, please send us a message if you would like to book both. The open-plan living space includes a living room, dining area, and kitchen. The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, microwave grill, gas cooktop, air fryer, toaster, sandwich maker, and plenty of cookware (note: there is no oven). Airbnb is normally self-catering. The verandah has outdoor seating and a dining area overlooking the garden and a 5 burner gas BBQ / oven for your use. Guest access Guests have private use of the cottage and verandah. For larger groups, another cottage with a queen bed and ensuite bathroom is available nearby at an extra cost, please send us a message if you would like to book both. You’re welcome to share our use of the 20-metre swimming pool in the garden and explore the farm by car, on foot or by bike. There are plenty of walking and running routes, and good opportunities for birdwatching. On-site parking is available, and access to the property with a 2WD is fine, though a 4WD is definitely recommended should you want to drive around the farm if there has been wet weather. Other things to note (Please read "HOUSE RULES" in the arrival guide section for full details.) Gogar Farm is a working dairy farm, so you may see tractors or livestock and hear normal farm activity during the day. There are six friendly dogs in the Gogar Farm House garden compound, which is shared with Gogar Cottage. The dogs normally bark when meeting new people. They may appear intimidating at first but they are all very friendly. If you are concerned about the dogs please notify Leah in advance. A member of staff can meet you on arrival and introduce you to the dogs, but remember the dogs share the compound. The swimming pool is available for you to use at any time. Please note it may also be used during the day by members of the Grant family and their personal guests. WARNING: There is no safety fence around the swimming pool, and no lifeguard on duty. So please take extreme care, especially if you have young children. All children MUST be accompanied by an adult who can swim. It is MANDATORY to sign a disclaimer provided if you intend to make use of the swimming pool. The cottage is accessible using a 2WD car, though a 4WD is recommended should you want to drive around the farm if there has been wet weather. If you choose to fly into Gogar Farm airstrip, the cottage is an easy 200 walk from the hangars and parking apron. Full details on request.
