Set in the heart of a friendly village with a cafe, pub, shops and countryside walks on the door step, plus private parking. Historic Lincoln is only a short drive away. The space Once the village cobbler’s workshop - still marked by the original 1850 plaque outside - the cottage has been thoughtfully updated to create a calm, comfortable space while keeping its original character. The cottage blends character with comfort with a cosy living room with log burner; a bright, fully-equipped kitchen/diner; two bedrooms, both designed with a calm, uncluttered feel; a bathroom with bath and shower and a separate shower room. There is an additional WC and hand basin downstairs off the entrance hall. The designated reading room with local information/maps etc is the ideal space for planning days out, enjoying a quiet moment or listening to the radio. Thoughtful touches throughout make it easy to settle in and feel at home. The fully-enclosed patio/herb garden is perfect for relaxing with a morning coffee or unwinding in the evening. It provides a secure, safe space for dogs of all sizes and is directly accessible from the kitchen through patio doors, giving owners added peace of mind. You can also help yourself to the small, cottage 'Herb and Pick' patch - fresh sugar-snap peas, strawberries for breakfast, fresh mint for your drinks or salads and greens when in season. There is also a separate BBQ area with additional seating. The cottage is set in the centre of a friendly, thriving village with all amenities a short stroll away. The bus stops servicing Lincoln and Gainsborough are a one minute walk from the cottage. There are two private off-road parking spaces to the rear of the property. The historic city of Lincoln with its cathedral, castle and independent shops, is just a short drive away. Guest access Guests have full, private access to the entire cottage and enclosed garden and private parking for the duration of their stay. Access is simple and straightforward, with details provided before arrival. The property is best accessed from the rear, directly from the private, off-road parking area. Access to the house is down a couple of steps into the enclosed patio herb garden. There is also a front door to the cottage (with no steps), which leads directly into the living room. Please be aware that the main access driveway is shared with two further properties beyond, so we ask guests not to block the driveway at any time. There is no guest access beyond the rear car parking area. Other things to note We aim to make every guest's stay as easy and relaxing as possible at The Old Shoemaker's. Whether you're travelling with or without a dog , you'll find thoughtful touches throughout. We do not charge additional fees for dogs or set impossible rules for dog owners either - just a few simple house rules. We also offer an experienced dog-sitting service for guests (available at an additional cost and subject to availability) - ideal if you'd like to enjoy an evening out or visit places where dogs aren't permitted.
