Glamping? Yes! Take it easy at our riverside tranquil getaway in the Südheide Nature Preserve. We offer this bespoke, comfy sleeping cabin with windows straight to the river. You'll feel the calm, rejuvenating energy of the Örtze River as you rest, read, work, do yoga, or ..... Nestled in our backyard, this little cabin is private, though not far from the house. Plus, you'll have your own river patio with a spectacular view! Come and feel the power of a nature retreat! The space The Hygge Hut is a one-room cabin which is well-insulated and has heat and electricity. It is not connected to plumbing, so we provide drinking and washing water. The attached dry toilet is well-designed for comfort and cleanliness. This cabin sits about 10 meters from the edge of the Örtze River, nestled in a small grove of old pine and oak trees. Directly in front of your cabin is a patio. From this patio, you feel and see the beauty of the river, the fields and forests beyond. The cabin has picture windows for this view, as well as a covered porch so you can enjoy the sights and sounds of nature under cover, in case of rain. Though integrated into the rest of the backyard which is shared with us, our other guests, and animals- this cabin feels isolated and private without being too far away. Our property in the Örtzetal and Südheide Parks- the nature here is amazing, full of gorgeous forests, hiking and biking trails, and plenty of birds and animals to observe. From this cabin, we've seen river otters, kingfishers, raccoons, swans, cranes, nutria, and many others! We are happy to share our property with the natural flora and fauna of this region. This is the perfect glamping getaway spot for bikers, hikers, paddlers, or just for someone who needs a quiet retreat to recharge. It would also function as a wonderful writer's or artist's retreat. Please note that the internet in this cabin is not reliable. What a great chance to unplug! Guest access You'll have the Hygge Hut and it's attached toilet completely to yourselves while you're here. At this time, there is no shower, but the river is clean and refreshing to bathe in. The riverside patio in front of the cabin can be requested for your use only, or shared with others. On the property are other river patios and look-outs which will be shared, as well as the general garden area. There is also a shared firepit at the end of the property. You're welcome to interact with our hobby-farm animals but please treat them with respect and never feed them. In summer, the river is often enjoyed by adults and children alike as a swimming opportunity. Other things to note As in camping, please bring your own cooking supplies as well as bedding. If you'd like to rent pillows, towels, blankets and sheets as well as a basic camp-kitchen supplies box, please write to us before your arrival to be sure we have everything you need on hand. We are happy to accommodate your needs. Important: There is always risk involved with fast-flowing water... and the Örtze River is no exception. Please swim, paddle, or play in and around the river at your own risk. This is especially important for children, who must be under constant adult supervision. We have 2 child-sized life jackets that you're welcome to borrow.
