Former premontrous abbey classified as a historical monument renovated in the 19th by Count Ducos, which gives it the appearance of a castle. We offer 5 bed and breakfast rooms (see our 4 listings) with an old 19th century flavor. Exceptional setting, simple and direct hospitality. To relax in the charm of the old, timeless and the usual, you have come to the right place. Ideal for lovers of nature and old stones. The Count's room is a duo room (1 double bed). The space The former royal abbey of Septfontaines was founded in the 12th century, rebuilt in the 18th, and remained Premonstratensian until the Revolution. At the end of the 19th century, Count Ducos gave it the appearance of a castle. In one wing of the building, we have set up some guest rooms that retain their old-fashioned character of the late 19th century, with very beautiful old wallpaper, while giving this vast residence the sober and rustic character that suits us. The "Comte's room" is located on the ground floor with soothing views of the surrounding countryside. It is spacious, with beautiful antique parquet flooring, while remaining simple. Room with 3 showers upstairs, shared with other guests; independent toilet. Outside, access to a private bar area (abbey beers) arranged in a room adjoining a beautiful vaulted barn. If you like charm and tranquility, simplicity and friendliness, this place will enchant you. We are not looking for great luxury, frills, gilding... In the shared circulation areas, cloister, living room, dining room, you can relax, enjoy the remarkable perspectives of the place, play chess, interact with us, etc. Rejuvenation guaranteed, ideal for lovers of the old, artists, nature lovers... Possibility of hosting up to 9 people (on request). Languages: French, English, Spanish, a little German. Easy parking. Guest access Inside, you will enjoy the vaulted cloister illuminated with light in the afternoon, the large dining room and the warm common living room. Outside, in addition to the courtyard and the romantic ruins of the church, you have access to the park surrounding the abbey, its small woods, its hidden corners, its rockeries... NB Photos are prohibited inside the building. During your stay We naturally tell guests about tourist places to visit and all useful travel information. This little-known region of France has many corners to discover, and many hikes are available to visitors. Many hiking trails nearby, many villages to discover, historical monuments, and for young people: Nigloland park 45 minutes away. Other things to note Located in the countryside, the abbey is an ideal place to relax, away from the hustle and bustle of modernity. Family atmosphere in a place full of history. If you want to fully enjoy the atmosphere of the place and forget about the passage of time, we recommend a minimum of 2 days of stay. At the abbey, we really live timelessly.
