Nestled between the forest and the sea on the southern side of Yakushima, 2R is a small retreat designed to help you Refocus & Re-energize. Here, we invite you to pause, breathe, and let the island’s wind, rain, cedar scent and ocean tide gently awaken your senses. Located within walking distance of Yakushima’s two seaside hot springs – Hirauchi Kaichū Onsen and Yudomari Onsen – 2R sits quietly just ten minutes from the shore. This is not a hotel, but a place to live slowly. The space 2R is a private wooden house surrounded by forest and sea breeze. It has three bedrooms, a living and dining area, and a bathroom facing the trees. A quiet, natural space designed for slow living. Guest access Guests have exclusive access to the entire house — all three bedrooms, living and bathroom. The garden and outdoor space around the house are also free to use. Other things to note Morning yoga is available every day in the house or garden depending on the weather. It is an optional paid activity for guests. The class is gentle and suitable for beginners, and yoga mats are provided. If you would like to join, please let us know in advance.
