Casinha Azul is a newly refurbished and charming studio on the ground floor of a 16th century townhouse in Castelo Branco. Located inside the old city walls, it’s within 200m of the city’s main attractions including parks and museums, and only a few minutes’ walk from a host of excellent bars and restaurants. The area is noted for its historic 16th century doors and is on the Caminho de Santiago pilgrimage route. The castle is a ten minute walk. Train and coach stations are a 15-20 minute walk. The space The room is an open studio space with its own private modern bathroom. There is underfloor heating throughout in two zones. The studio contains a small double bed, a sofa, dining table and two chairs, a coffee and tea station, mini fridge, microwave, small ironing board and iron and essential items for casual dining including wine and champagne glasses. The sofa converts to a single bed and can be set up on request at least 24 hours before check-in. I can accommodate a couple and a child or 2 singles. Please note there is no separate bedroom and the studio is one open space, so if you are two single travellers you need to be friends! There are ample electrical sockets in the main space including 3 USB-A and 3 USB-C ports. The window has an exterior security roller blind and interior wooden shutters to block out the morning light if you’d like to sleep late The bathroom has a hand-held bidet spray next to the toilet, an overhead and hand-held shower with good water pressure, a heated towel rail, under floor heating, anti-fog mirror with dimmable lighting, hair dryer, hair straighteners, a first aid kit, an international electrical socket and 2 USB ports. Guest access It is a self-contained studio on the ground floor with its own lockable entrance from the main foyer. There are sliding bolts top and bottom on the left hand door for extra security. There is one small step from the street to the front door but the apartment is all one level. The walk from the train and bus stations takes around 20 minutes and dies not require walking up stairs or steep hills. Other things to note Breakfast is not included every day, but there is a selection of teas and coffees and milk of your choice stocked in the fridge. A welcome pack of fruit, biscuits and pastries is also provided on arrival. The room is naturally cool in summer as it has stone walls and is on the ground floor. There is also a portable fan and a small cooling unit in the room. For stays longer than one week there is an additional 9€ weekly cleaning fee which includes cleaning the apartment and a linen change. Registration Details 178353/AL
