Green retreat: rustic house with fireplace

Description

Surrounded by greenery, in the Apuan mountains, this cottage is the perfect retreat for those who love the quiet of the mountains but do not want to give up the charm of Versilia and the Tuscan wonders. Located in Melo, a short walk from Pruno, it can be reached in 10 minutes on foot or comfortably by 4x4 car along a charming dirt path. Nature, relaxation and culture await you! The space Historic 18th century farmhouse in Alta Versilia; authentic and full of Tuscan charm, where time seems to have stopped. Here history and rustic charm welcome you in a unique setting. Not suitable for those with mobility difficulties, but perfect for those looking for real emotions between stone, wood and nature. The house is located in Melo, a place not far from the village of Pruno, an area known for the extraction of Del Cardoso stone. It can be reached in a 10-minute walk or in no time at all if you have a car with higher ground clearance than usual or a 4x4 capable of navigating a steep dirt road. It has, on the ground floor, a dining room and kitchen; on the first floor (accessed by a spiral staircase), living room with fireplace, bedroom and bathroom with shower. In front of a large pergola. Remember that the house is located in the middle of nature, among green woods; for this reason doors and windows are equipped with mosquito nets but despite this it may happen to meet a few small ones, it is harmless animal. In winter, the enveloping warmth of the wood-burning stoves and the large fireplace makes the stay even more magical. For those who prefer the convenience of central heating, it will be possible to activate it by paying it extra, but on site, depending on the consumption. This rustic secluded is an oasis of peace surrounded by nature, perfect for relaxing or exploring Alta Versilia. Also, in just 30 minutes by car you can reach the beaches and beach towns. Ideal for those who love the mountains but also want to experience the heart of Tuscany. Guest access The location of the house makes it an ideal place to start for walks, hikes, reaching the beaches or discovering some of the most beautiful and well-known places in Tuscany. In the morning, after an energetic breakfast under the veranda, you can go and discover the many paths that cross this part of the Apuan Alps; with a short walk suitable for the whole family you can reach the Acquapendente waterfall; walk along the localities of Alpeggio, where the locals once moved to carry out summer work; or discover the rock engravings left by the ancient Ligurian peoples. For the more experienced, there is the possibility of reaching some of the most fascinating peaks of the Apuan Alps, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. Particularly impressive is the climb to the summit of Monte Forato, characterized by its natural arch of about 30 meters in diameter; Monte Forato is the backdrop to the view from our house. For sea lovers, you can reach the beaches and seaside resorts of Forte dei Marmi, Marina di Pietrasanta and Viareggio. From Pietrasanta station, in less than an hour by train, you can go and spend a beautiful day in the "Cinque Terre" National Park, known worldwide for its small villages perched on the steep cliffs overlooking the sea. Alternatively, in the afternoon, you can visit the medieval villages of Camaiore and Pietrasanta or Lake Massaciuccoli, which inspired the operatic compositions of Maestro G. Puccini and where the Puccini Festival takes place in August Upon your return, in the late afternoon, the Pruno Inn, a meeting place for the few inhabitants of the village, awaits you for a typical aperitif. Pruno also offers two small restaurants where you can spend the evening enjoying excellent dishes. If you prefer to stay home, the evening is the best time to try cooking the typical dishes of Tuscan cuisine accompanied by a good wine. Massimiliano, my partner, will be happy to offer you all the necessary advice. Going by car beyond Pruno you reach the village of Levigliani, from which tours depart to visit one of the largest caves in Europe, L'Antro del Corchia and the adjacent ancient mines. Leaving Pruno in the morning, you can spend a day visiting some of the most famous cultural and artistic attractions of Tuscany: Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Siena, Chianti, the Islands of the Archipelago, ....... Other things to note Heating during the winter months is provided by wood stoves (the necessary items for use will be at your disposal and are included in the house's amenities) and by central LPG heating at the expense of the guests, based on consumption. Unfortunately, we had to choose this policy to counteract reckless use of the LPG. We care very much about the environmental issues and we always try to have eco-friendly measures suggesting them also to our guests. Here are some of our fixes: - use of low-power light bulbs - Installation of tap flow reducers - we have reusable bags available for grocery shopping - in the house we leave a natural solid foam bathroom, asking guests to bring it with them when they leave - in the house we have set up a small corner where you can buy natural/biodegradable products and artisanal objects made by me, ideal for an eco-friendly gift.
