Charming 18th century stone cottage

Description

Tucked away in a peaceful corner of Newbold Village, within its own private courtyard, Carpenters Mews is a beautifully restored circa-1800 cottage. Full of character and charm, it has been thoughtfully furnished throughout. Whether you’re visiting for business, leisure, or a countryside getaway to the nearby stunning Peak District, this delightful two-bedroom home is a perfect base. It is close to all local amenities, providing everything you need for an enjoyable and comfortable stay. The space Carpenters Mews is one of the oldest buildings in the village that once served as the carpenter’s workshop for the historic Chatsworth Estate. It was beautifully converted into two cottages in the 80's with a shared courtyard. The Airbnb is the gable end and I live directly next door in the 'flat' roof side. The cottages have their own private entrances next door to each other from the courtyard and access to the courtyard is via electronic gates from the road... so you are very secure. The cottage is full of character and charm, featuring original beamed ceilings, a cosy lounge with a welcoming fireplace, and a solid wood dining table ...perfect for family gatherings. The interiors are tastefully furnished throughout, showcasing thoughtful touches, charming nooks, and quirky corners that reflect the cottage's rich heritage. The fully fitted modern farmhouse kitchen blends rustic style with contemporary convenience, while the completely renovated bathroom adds a touch of luxury. As with many period properties, you’ll find a few charming quirks — including some slightly wonky walls and the occasional low beam — all adding to its unique appeal! A range of shops, cosy pubs, and local eateries are all within a short drive into Chesterfield itself and everyday essentials are just moments away, with both a Tesco Express and Co-op just a minute’s walk from the cottage. For those looking to explore the region’s rich history, the grand stately homes of Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and Hardwick Hall are all within easy reach — perfect for a day out immersed in heritage and beauty. Guest access You have the whole house to yourselves and have access in/around the courtyard. There is a beautiful garden space at the back of the property with full garden furniture and BBQ which can be accessed on request for special occasions.
