Perched within the dramatic coastal setting of St Gennys, where the charming church overlooks an expanse of glistening sea, lies Raddons, a welcoming first-floor cottage that offers both tranquillity and inspiration in equal measure. Surrounded by the rugged beauty of North Cornwall, this retreat is the perfect base for families or friends looking to immerse themselves in nature’s charm. The cottage sleeps up to six guests across three inviting bedrooms, each thoughtfully arranged for comfort and views. The double bedroom boasts sweeping vistas across rolling fields and the sparkling sea beyond, while the twin room provides a cosy sanctuary for restful nights. The third bedroom, fitted with bunk beds, delights with its own sublime outlook across the coast, a reminder of the breathtaking setting that frames every corner of this home. A family bathroom invites relaxation, offering the choice of a deep bath for long, leisurely soaks after salty beach days, or a convenient shower over for a quick refresh. At the heart of the cottage, the open-plan living space blends character and comfort, a well-equipped kitchen with breakfast bar makes mealtimes a joy, while a super-comfy sofa and armchair gather around a glowing wood-burning stove, creating the perfect refuge on stormy evenings when the Atlantic roars outside. The garden beckons with both patio and lawn, an idyllic spot for alfresco dining or stargazing beneath Cornwall’s famously dark skies. Just a mile away, the golden sands and rugged cliffs of Crackington Haven Beach await. At high tide, the bay glimmers with quartz-flecked pebbles and boulders; at low tide, a wide sandy expanse and rockpools reveal themselves, promising endless adventure for children and adults alike. Framed by majestic cliffs owned largely by the National Trust, the beach is as scenic as it is lively, with welcoming cafés, beach shops, and a traditional pub boasting a terrace that looks directly over the sea. Whether it’s coastal walks along the parish’s excellent paths, days filled with surf and sand, or evenings around the fire as waves crash in the distance, Raddons is a true Cornish gem, a place where sea, sky, and story converge.
