Sunnyside is a charming detached sandstone home in the Eden Valley. Set in a popular, well-serviced village with a small supermarket and pub it offers off-street parking, a terraced garden with stunning views and spacious accommodation for families or groups. With 3 bedrooms (2 king sized beds and 1 twin room) sleeping up to 6 guests and 2 living rooms, whether you're exploring the Lakes, relaxing by the fire or dining al fresco, Sunnyside is your perfect base for a peaceful countryside escape. The space Inside Sunnyside: Comfort, Character & Space to Unwind Sunnyside offers two well furnished reception rooms, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Curl up in the cosy lounge with a wood-burning stove, Smart TV, DVD player, and a selection of books, DVDs and games. A second sitting room also has a Smart TV, arm chairs, sofa and piano. The characterful kitchen features a Belfast sink, range-style double oven with electric hob and a large dining table set beside patio doors leading into the garden. A handy utility room houses a freezer, dishwasher and microwave, while the lockable garage provides secure storage for bikes and outdoor gear (and contains the tumble dryer too). As you enter the property through the back door there is a sandstone flagged boot-room and downstairs toilet. Upstairs, you’ll find a family bathroom with roll-top bath, two spacious double bedrooms with king-size beds (one with an en-suite) plus a twin room — perfect for families or groups of up to six. All essentials are provided including electricity, logs, bed linen, towels and toiletries. The large, terraced garden offers stunning views across the village to the Pennines — ideal for morning coffee or evening stargazing. Please note: the garden includes many stone steps and may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. Guest access Guests have the full use of the house, garage and private enclosed gardens Other things to note The village Lazonby is a great village with many amenities- • A small Co-Op supermarket is just down the hill on the right, there is a cash machine and post office there too • The Midland pub is opposite Co-Op and there are two good pubs over the river in Kirkoswald in walkable distance if you are keen • The station is up the hill on the left just before you reach Co-Op with trains to Carlisle and out to Leeds • There is a playground at the bottom of the hill behind an open air swimming pool • There is a small duck pond up the hill on the left Local Places to Eat We recommend: • The Feathers Arms, Kirkoswald • The Highland Drove, Great Salkeld • There are various restaurants, cafes, pubs and take-aways in Penrith depending on your taste and budget Things To Do As you are so close to the Lake District walking is obvious! Closer to home there are nice walks along the river at the bottom of the village and in warmer weather people swim from the beach next to the bridge. Your closest lake is Ullswater with a steamer, lovely walks and good ice-cream at Pooley Bridge. We like Lowther Castle with its hidden castle playground in the woods and Walby Park Farm can be fun for children. Keswick has the Theatre by the Lake and you then aren’t far from Windermere. Penrith is the local town with supermarkets, shops, a small soft play and pool at the leisure centre. You generally need a disc to park free for one hour (available from local shops) or you can park for free for 3 hours at Sainsburys. Carlisle is the local city with a cathedral, castle, Tullie House Museum, bowling, trampolining, soft play and a variety of shops with many places to eat, drink and sample the local nightlife. You can get a train from Lazonby station.
