Elevated for privacy and elegance, Ivy House Dorrigo is a luxurious romantic retreat surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens, and sun-drenched lawns, perfect for picnics. The space The first bedroom known as the Venetian Room, features an original Venetian mirror I found in Vienna during a festival. Its main wall displays an oversized painting of a 'scantily clad' woman I affectionately call Kate Winslet, for her striking resemblance. A twin-door wardrobe with drawers, a mirrored dressing table and side table complete the room - each piece collected during my years living in London. The second bedroom known as the Cedar Room features the chest of drawers I bought 40 years ago in Balmain, a timeless piece that has travelled with me through four decades before finding its place here in Dorrigo. The sliding doors open onto the wide verandah with a relaxed outdoor setting, perfect for lazing in the sun or enjoying alfresco dining. Both bedrooms offer firm queen-sized beds dressed in crisp white linen with European and standard pillows for your comfort. The full bathroom includes a bath, a shower, and toilet - complimented by luxurious shower products conveniently wall-mounted for easy access. Step into the open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area where large Persian rugs and an enormous green lounge welcome you into the space. A freestanding wood fireplace for those cool evenings, while a wall-mounted television offers streaming entertainment. There is an industrial turquoise wooden coffee table adding charm and colour to this space. The dining area features a beautiful antique pine farmhouse kitchen table, perfect for sharing breakfast, lunch, and dinner; all of which could either be eaten out, or prepared in the beautifully equipped kitchen for those who love to cook. The gorgeous country farmhouse style kitchen features a 90cm six-burner gas stove, fan-forced oven, Jamie Oliver quality cookware, and generous bench space. Thoughtful touches like a Nespresso coffee machine, herbal teas, ample utensils, and classic country styling make every meal a pleasure to prepare and share. Guest access Separate from the house is a standalone building where the laundry resides. It features a Fisher & Paykel washing machine, clothes dryer, double laundry sink, clothes horse, and washing basket. Within the building, there’s a studio attached to the laundry, although it’s currently unused. To the rear of the garden, there’s a double carport, a chicken house that’s not in use, and a wood shed for guests to use for the freestanding wood burner inside Ivy House. Rear lane access is available if you wish. Other things to note Dorrigo is situated atop the Great Dividing Range and is a haven for nature enthusiasts. The town is renowned for the Dorrigo National Park, a component of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area. Visitors can explore the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre, which provides insights into the park’s ecology and features the Skywalk Lookout. This platform extends over the escarpment, offering panoramic views of the rainforest canopy and beyond to the Pacific Ocean. The lush rainforest, cool mountain air and sweeping views define this highland region. Activities include chasing waterfalls, following trails beneath ancient trees, trout fishing, kayaking, horse riding, mountain biking or book a 4WD trip.
