John and Terri welcomes you to stunning Porchfield, a rural peaceful village just a ten minute drive from the main town centre of Newport and the historic Cowes harbour. There are lots of glorious walking trails nearby to enjoy peaceful countryside walks and if you're lucky, you may spot some red squirrels! Newtown Creek nature reserve is a short walk away and the IOW Randonnee cycling event passes our door. The Three Rivers music Festival held at the end of May is just around the corner. The space Please note* We do have two rooms available to rent within the same private area so if you are travelling with friends/colleagues or family and don't mind sharing a bathroom, then please take a look at our other listing or pop us a message so we can ensure both rooms are booked for you. Equally, if you are travelling as a couple and renting one room then the second room will not be rented for the duration of your stay ensuring you have complete privacy. There is plenty of parking on the drive or opposite the house with 5 steps to the front door and a flight of stairs with handrail to your room. There is a Tassimo coffee machine, kettle, mini fridge, hairdryer, straighteners and smart TV (don't forget your Netflix/Disney passwords). We also leave a light breakfast in your room with a selection of teas and some light snacks. Guest access You are welcome to join us in our kitchen diner, back garden and use the pool. The pool will be open from 01/04 - 30/09 - we enjoy cold water swimming so please do let us know in advance if you want us to heat the pool. We do have a small daily charge for this. We have a seating area near the Brook at the bottom of the garden with a couple of duck families to keep you company, a perfect space to snuggle up with a good book and glass of something nice! There is an abundance of wildlife that visits the garden, red squirrels, Kestrels, wagtails, finches, a king fisher to name a few. We hope you get to see some during your stay. Other things to note We do have a small dog who prefers to left alone but happy for strokes if he comes to you John is a born and bred Islander and will be more than happy to assist you with an itinerary for your stay. If you need to check in earlier just let us know and we will try to accommodate you. We are here to make your stay with us as relaxing and memorable as possible so if you need anything at all or if you have forgotten something, we probably have it so please don't hesitate to ask. We are approx a 45 min walk to the nearest bus stop but we are more than happy to drop you if we are in. If cycling you are welcome to put your bikes in our secure garage and work on them in the garden. We look forward to welcoming you home!
