Cottage in Nyonfeleh

Jallo Kurundingoto (“small mahogany forest”) eco camp is a unique place where you can experience Gambian farmlife. It is located in an untouched forest on the outskirts of Nyonfelleh. Our camp is surrounded by a beautiful and healthy ecosystem that is home to many plant and bird species. We have plenty of hammocks around, and lots of fruit trees. The camp has 3 huts. There is a shared outside space with a fireplace where you can hangout and enjoy traditional Gambian meals and herbal teas. The space Jala Kurundigoto (“small mahogany forest”) eco tourist camp is a unique place where you can experience Gambian life on a farm. Relax in a hammock, have an orange from the tree, or drink herbal tea from one of the many herbs growing in the garden. Everywhere you will see banana, orange, coconut, papaya, pineapple and avocado trees. Par grows green peppers, onions, tomatoes, beans and other crops that he gives full attention and love. The eco camp runs fully on solar power and has its own water well. If you feel like it, you’re most welcome to help watering the crops and helping out with farming. Par can take you out on trips to the village, beach, local markets or to the snake farm. The camp is located in a quiet area, just outside N’yonfeleh village. It is around 40 minutes from the busy town of Brikama, 30 minutes from Sanyang beach and 20 minutes from Gunder beach. There is a direct bus from Brikama to N’yonfeleh and Par can also arrange a pickup from either Gundur or Brikama. The room You will stay in a traditional round hut with a double bed and an ensuite shower, sink and toilet. The bed has a mosquito net although there aren’t many mosquitos around. In the morning the only sounds you will hear is the beautiful birds sound orchestra. The camp has three round huts, and a tree house in case you’re looking for a bit more adventure. There is an outside shower, lots of hammocks to enjoy the sunset or just relax, and an outside kitchen for communal use. As an alternative you can ask Par to prepare one of the many local dishes that you can enjoy either from the communal space, or your private terrace at your hut.
