Description
Please read description carefully before booking! Rustic, quirky and Spartan, but cosy. Log cabin with running water in the summer and electricity 15 mins walk from Grua train station and local amenities. Oslo is 45 minutes away. Perfect if you are looking for a quiet getaway and want to be close to civilisation. Artists, writers or others that need a quiet place to work from and are looking for longer stays, please get in touch and I would be willing to discuss the rate. The space Water is running, but slowly from the middle of May until end of August. Hot water is heated on the stove. The bathroom has a compost toilet. On a warm day you can shower - outside - using a portable camping shower. Access is a 10 minute walk up a hill along a path from the main road. The path crosses a railway track. Parking is at the main road. The cabin lies at the top of a hillside along with a few other cabins. It is mainly quiet, except when trains pass by below. The return to the main road takes 5 minutes. The reason the place is marked as 'not child friendly' is to do with the access and the path crossing the railway track. I take my own two children there now and then. They are 4 and 9, but I realise that it is not for everybody to do so. The cabin is also an ongoing project with building materials in a couple of places outside, so smaller children would need supervision walking about outside. The cabin is normally available from mid May to end of August. Because of the rise in energy prices, excessive use of electricity needs to be paid in addition to the daily rates. The kitchen has a mini oven with two hot plates. The bedroom has three duvets and blankets. Linen is not provided and needs to be brought. Alternatively sleeping bags should be brought. The area has 4 G coverage.
