Welcome to this charming Grade II listed Victorian cottage located in the centre of Clare, the historic smallest town in Suffolk. Formerly a shoe shop in the 1930s it is now a cosy home with original beams visible on the ground floor. The wealth of shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants are no more than a short amble from the front door. Richard and Gilbert de Clare formerly resided in the town and were both signatories of the Magna Carta. On the outside of the cottage are two Doric columns where the shop door formerly was. An information board provides the history of Clare Market dating back to the Domesday Book.
