Country cottage near York & the Yorkshire Wolds

Enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Beckside Cottage, close to York and the Yorkshire Wolds. Set overlooking Wilberfoss Beck and the heart of the village. The village has a friendly pub, a mini supermarket with post office as well as a sports club. It is within easy reach of York by car or bus and the market town of Pocklington. The space Beckside Cottage is a pretty cottage overlooking the beck in the heart of Wilberfoss village. The cottage was built in the mid-1700s and retains lots of period charm including beamed ceilings, quarry tiled floor, fireplaces and a beautiful cottage garden to the rear. The cottage is deceptively spacious inside. The sitting room is at the front of the cottage and provides a warm and cosy place to relax and enjoy reading and TV watching. The dining area is adjacent with built-in benches and dresser. The kitchen lies at the back of the cottage with access into the garden. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, hob and dishwasher with all the equipment you need. The ceiling is a glass lantern so you can enjoy seeing the sky and all the birds that frequent the garden. The bathroom is situated downstairs and has a bath with shower over. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and other essentials such as bath salts are all provided. There is a washing machine in the built in bathroom cupboard; washing liquid, clothes basket, pegs and drying rack are provided as well as an iron and ironing board. There is also an outdoor clothes line. The back garden is generous and includes a dining terrace just outside the cottage which leads to two areas of lawn and plenty of space for you and your furry friend to enjoy the outdoors. Upstairs to the front is a bedroom which overlooks the beck and enjoys village sunsets. The room has a king sized bed, TV and DAB radio. To the rear is a second bedroom with double bed which looks over the garden and enjoys sunrises and birdsong. Guest access The whole cottage is yours. Please don’t use the side gate.
