Luxury Kelo Cabin – 15 m to the lake

The cabin with its own sauna and jetty is situated right at the shore of Finland's clearest lake! The space The cabin was built in summer 2017 and is the only one of its kind in the Saimaa Lake District. It was hand carved from KELO logs originating in the region around the Arctic Circle, where the logs have grown for up to 350 years. Both the exterior and interior have been designed in a style typically found only in Lapland. Please read through our entire cabin description carefully so as to avoid unjustified criticism later. The cabin is suitable for one to four people (2 adults + 2 children) and conveniently located by the lake – only 15 metres from the shoreline. Running drinking water. Sauna, shower, WC, kitchenette and a big terrace under the same roof. The double bed is generously sized with dimensions of 2.05 m × 1.60 m. The ceiling heights are 2.50 m for the ground floor and max. 1.80 m for the bedroom upstairs. Due to the proximity to the lake, new, stricter local building regulation does not permit the upper level to be higher (According to the National Building Code of Finland, a cabin's size may not exceed 30 m² if it is built this close to the shore). Please note that the fireplace is only decoration and unfortunately not for use, as it is too strong for the cabin size. Also, because the kelo logs, of which this cabin has been built, are naturally very dry and therefore highly flammable, the sauna may not be heated beyond 90ºC. Lake Puruvesi is the cleanest lake in Finland and has very clear, drinkable water. Tranquility, very clean water, beautiful landscape, nice and comfortable cabin. Kelo is a centuries-old silver pine that has dried out while standing. The material is characterised by a silver-grey shimmering patina. This kelo cabin was designed and built by Finnish company Finimex, the worldwide leader in the export of exclusive kelo wood contructions, such as saunas and other recreational buildings. Typical customers of the company are five-star hotels, luxury spas and wellness resorts. ————————————— Information on pricing: Our prices are within the recommendations made by Airbnb. Please take into consideration when assessing the value for money for your stay that 33% of the rental income goes directly to the Finnish Tax Authorities. Further, additional expenses and the host’s share of the Airbnb Service Fee amount to around 25%. Please also note that you will not incur any extra charges for the use of boats, bicycles, related equipment, and, if necessary, instruction. Furthermore, no other listing in our region offers such an extensive all-inclusive package as ours. For example, the rental cost of boats in Punkaharju and Savonlinna is around €40/day – when you stay with us, the use of boats is included. In addition to having the freedom to choose from 16 boats, including rowing boats, SUPs, kayaks and a canoe, you will have access to 20 bicycles that we have available in varying sizes.
