Ashdown Forest Retreat – Cosy & Peaceful Annex

Escape to the heart of Ashdown Forest in this stylish, light-filled annex. Perfect for walkers, writers, and anyone seeking calm, with forest access from the doorstep and cosy comforts inside. The space A peaceful, light-filled annex set on the edge of the Ashdown Forest. The space is fully self-contained with its own private entrance, a cosy sleeping area, modern shower room, and a small but well-equipped kitchenette for simple meals. The living area is calm and comfortable, with large windows bringing in plenty of natural light. Inside you’ll find a selection of walking maps and handpicked local routes to help you explore the forest, along with a curated collection of books on local wildlife, nature and birds, and a couple of classic Winnie-the-Pooh volumes for anyone who enjoys the stories that grew from these woods. Outside, the private decking includes seating, a gas BBQ, and a chiminea, with a basket of logs available for use. The retreat sits within our garden, so while your space is private, it is not completely secluded. Designed for up to two adults, the retreat works well for solo stays, couples, walkers, and anyone looking for a quiet base in nature. Guest access Guests have full, private use of the self-contained annex, including the living space, bedroom area, shower room, kitchenette, and the private decking with outdoor seating and a BBQ. You’ll have your own entrance and parking space, so you can come and go as you please. The annex is located within our garden, so you may see us using the space during your stay. We’re mindful of guest privacy, but it’s not a completely secluded setting. Walking trails begin right from the door, giving you direct access to the Ashdown Forest. Other things to note The annex is set within our grounds with its own entrance and decking area. The main garden isn’t part of the let, but with the Ashdown Forest right outside, you’ll have endless space to explore. The space is designed for up to two adults only. It isn’t suitable for children, and we’re not able to accommodate pets. We do have a very human friendly resident dog on the property, so please bear this in mind if you prefer a dog free environment. You will hear and spot local wildlife — deer, birds, and the Olivier the chatty owl. It’s part of the charm of staying in the forest. Mobile signal can be patchy in parts of the forest, but WiFi in the annex is reliable if you need to stay connected.
