We warmly encourage all our guests to explore and enjoy the entire property during their stay. It’s common to see groups of howler monkeys, hummingbirds and colorful parrots visiting our land. Our beach invites you to slow down and unwind — whether reading in a hammock, resting by the water, enjoying the sauna and plunge pool, or taking in the sunset skies. We are located right next to the famous rope swing and tucked inside the most visited bay close to Flores Island. We offer easy access to the area’s most unique experiences. Guest access Your journey begins with a private boat transfer across the lake, carrying you to your hidden jungle sanctuary at check-in — and ends with your private boat transfer back at check-out, both included at NO EXTRA COST. Need to visit Flores? Our private boat runs daily from 5:00 AM–10:30 PM for just Q40 per boat ride (not per person). We offer this service purely at our operational cost, making it easy and affordable to explore the island whenever you wish. For your convenience, we’ll keep track of your boat transfers and settle them all together at check-out. Late-night transfers (10:30 PM–5:00 AM) can be arranged for Q100 per boat (not per person). Please note that our property is located on a hillside, and access to the suites requires climbing a set of stairs. In addition, arrival by lake involves stepping in and out of the boat independently. For this reason, before booking, we recommend that guests are in good physical condition and comfortable with climbing some stairs and have an adventurous spirit. As a Samaya guest, you are welcome to join wellness activities like yoga and sauna at no additional cost, with prior approval in our group. Please also read the ´Other things to note´ part before booking! Other things to note Please read carefully before booking: • Our property is just a 5-minute boat ride from Flores Island. Our private boat service runs daily from 5:00 AM–10:30 PM for just Q40 per ride (not per person). This service is offered at our operating cost, making it simple and affordable to explore the island whenever you wish. Between 10.30 pm and 5:00 am our boat is still available but for Q 100 per boatride. So guaranteed 24 hrs boatservice to Flores within minutes. • The property is located on a hillside, and reaching the apartments requires climbing stairs. Paths are paved and clearly visible, but this may not be suitable for guests with mobility limitations. Guests should feel comfortable stepping in and out of the boat during arrival and departures. • Children are warmly welcome at Samaya. As with any nature retreat, we kindly ask that young children are supervised by an adult at all times, especially when enjoying the lake and outdoor areas. We have life jackets available. • Our wonderful cooks, Doña Berta and Iris, can prepare a traditional Guatemalan breakfast, pancakes or yoghurt with granola and fruits served in the comfort of your apartment. These breakfasts are Q 75. Please let us know the evening before through our WA group. • Lunch and dinner delivery from Maracuya Restaurant, a beloved local restaurant, is available between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM. You may also visit Flores Island at any time to enjoy its many dining options. • Samaya offers well-equipped kitchens in each apartment for guests who prefer to prepare their own meals. Flores has several grocery stores, including La Torre supermarket in nearby Santa Elena. You can cross any time you want.
