The apartment is situated on the first floor of a typically old Dutch Frisian Dike house with stunning views over the IJssellake (the former Zuydersea, these days fresh water!). Enjoy a beautiful sunset and watch ships sail by from your own living room and idyllic roof terrace. The accommodation "Sleeping by the IJssellake" is completely self sufficient; it has it's own rise and private bathroom (with good shower!). The living room consists of a built-in kitchen, beautiful lounge area, a queen size comfortable double bed and a pretty roof terrace. In a separate room there are also two single beds enjoying a beautiful view over the canal running along the front of the house. This means you have complete privacy. There are also two free parking facilities opposite and there is TV and internet connection. Breakfast can be served most of the time upon request. The apartment is located in the quite and picturesque centre of Stavoren, one of the famous Frisian 11-cities. Ever since 950 BC Stavoren received city-rights, however these days it's a small village full of character incl. 5 harbours, little restaurants and bars, and off course the famous statue " the female of Stavoren". The sandy beach where you can swim, surf and sunbath is only at a 2 min. walking distance from the apartment. This location is also ideal when you love cycling or hiking. There are beautiful paths along the dike, beach and in the forest (Rijsterbos). We recommend the Frisian coastal path (LAW 5-4), the Zuiderzee path (LAW 8) and cycle route LF22 which run directly along the apartment. Bikes are for rent opposite the B&B and we can store your bikes safely away at night. Even more importantly Stavoren is a sailors paradise, there are 5 harbours, small and large lakes suitable for sailing, wind- & kite-surfing, fishing and swimming which off course all can be seen from your own living room.
