Less than 10 miles, both Helmsley and Pickering offer a number of cafes and shops to peruse at your leisure. For an evening of fine wine and tantalising food, stroll the few hundred yards to the Royal Oak, a 17th century inn. With flagstone flooring and lots of light, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has both a spacious yet inviting feel. Kitted out with a toasty wood burner and snuggly throws, many a relaxed morning and cosy evening can be spent in the lounge. Thumb through one of the magazines or find your favourite book on the shelves, a varied selection of reading materials is provided, best enjoyed with buttery biscuits and a hot cup of Yorkshire tea. If you fancy losing yourselves in a film, there is a TV and DVD in the lounge too. Backing the lounge, the kitchen/diner is a welcoming space for cooking and meals shared over a bottle of wine. The kitchen comes with a useful dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. Further in the property, there is a large master bedroom with a super-king-size bed.
