Description
Take a break and unwind at this peaceful cottage close to York for female guests and families in "one of the best secret villages in the UK to live in". (The Times newspaper '24). 'April Cottage' is situated in Bishop Wilton, a perfect base for exploring York and the surrounding Yorkshire Wolds by bike, on foot or by car. We are on the Minster Way and Chalkland Way trails. The Yorkshire Wolds Way national trail and the Centenary Way and Wilberforce Way pass close by (with lifts available). The space Two bedrooms (one double and one single) are available in this lovely country cottage for female guests and families only. These overlook the pretty garden ahead of attractive converted farm buildings/coach-house and the church spire with views beyond of the stunning and relatively undiscovered Yorkshire Wolds. The living room features an open fire to welcome you back after your day's adventures. This is a very dog-friendly home with Ziggy, a male lurcher (neutered) welcoming other dogs and explaining that it's "downstairs only and paws on floors!" Guest access Guests will have exclusive access to the two bedrooms. The shower room will be shared with your host, as will all downstairs areas, providing a homely atmosphere for you to relax in. During your stay I am a friendly host, who will interact with you as much or as little as needed. I provide breakfast (English or continental style) within the booking price. Picnic lunches and evening meals can be supplied by prior arrangement. I have spent most of my life in the local area. I am happy to advise on suitable walking routes, cycling trails etc. Printed maps are available to borrow.
