This is the ultimate couple's escape - simple, peaceful and deeply restorative. The space Fink's Hut combines rustic heritage charm with thoughtful comforts: - Fully off-grid (solar and gas power systems) - Cozy "Crown" wood stove (heater for cool mountain nights) - Comfortable Queen Bed (bring own linen/or order linen pack) - Gas Stove (cooking), Gas fridge, Gas hot water - Fire Pit (designated area next to picnic table) - Walking track (just metres from your front door) - Telescope (for unforgettable star gazing) - No TV (intentional digital detox) - Board games, Lawn games, cards, books (more digital detox) - Private Covered Parking (and full house access) - High elevation climate (7-10 degrees cooler than lowlands) The hut has stood for 100 years and still carries the quiet grounding energy of its history as the first recreational destination on the Bunya Mountains. Built by Dalby Plumber, and Bunya Mountains Club President Bill Fink, it was the realisation of his dream to open up the mountain to the public as a place of beauty and wonder for the benefit of future generations. There's a walking track that starts right at the boundary of the property. Mountain biking tracks and the main walking tracks are just minutes drive (or ride) away. Undercover parking is right next to the cabin. Climate and seasonal information: The Bunya Mountains offer distinct seasons Winter = Misty mornings, fire lit nights, crisp air Spring = Peak wildlife and wildflower season Summer = 7 to 10 degrees cooler than surrounding towns Autumn = Clear skies perfect for stargazing Fog, mist and rain (it is a rainforest after all) are common - and add to the magic. Other things to note Please note, no linen is provided, so please bring your own sheets (queen size) and towels. Linen can be provided at an additional cost and with at least 24 hours notice (on weekdays). Please make this request at time of booking if possible.
