The space Welcome to our peaceful off-grid guest house set in a forested valley at the foothills of Monchique. Powered by solar energy and supplied with filtered, drinkable well water, the property offers a comfortable countryside stay surrounded by nature. The house sleeps up to six guests and is well-suited to couples, families, small groups of friends and those seeking a quiet countryside getaway for remote work. Fast Starlink Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, with plenty of space for working comfortably. The main bedroom has a double bed and a generous desk area with seating for three. The spacious dining and living area provides additional seating and room to work, read, relax or spend time together. The second bedroom has two single beds, while the living room offers additional sleeping space. The fully equipped kitchen includes a gas hob, large fridge and freezer, cookware and everyday essentials. During cooler weather, a pellet stove warms the main living area, with gas heaters provided in both bedrooms. The nearest beach is in Alvor, approximately 15 minutes away by car. On days when you prefer to remain at the property, you are welcome to cool off and relax in our on-site swimming pool. We live nearby in a separate home and are available when needed while respecting your privacy. This is a genuine rural retreat rather than a city stay or party property. It is intended for peaceful holidays, family time, countryside escapes and remote-working stays. Parties, events, large gatherings and unregistered visitors are not permitted. Dogs are welcome, with a maximum of two dogs per booking. A car is essential because public transport is limited. Lagos, Portimão and Monchique are approximately 25 minutes away, allowing you to enjoy the peace of the countryside while remaining within easy reach of the Algarve’s beaches and towns. Guest access Guests have full and private access to the guest house and its outdoor terrace. Shaded by a beautiful carob tree, the terrace also has a sunshade for extra comfort and includes a large dining table with seating for up to six guests. The shared 3 × 6 metre swimming pool is set in a sunny clearing and includes sun loungers and an outdoor shower. It is available to guests staying in both the guest house and our hillside yurts. You are also welcome to explore the designated walking routes around the land and enjoy the surrounding countryside. To protect everyone’s privacy, the hosts’ home and the hillside yurt accommodation areas are reserved for their respective occupants and are not accessible to guest-house visitors. Other things to note A printed guest handbook is provided in English, German, Portuguese and French. It includes practical guidance on the house, off-grid systems, Starlink Wi-Fi, the pool, walking routes, and nearby places to visit. We recommend reading it on arrival. The property is reached by an unpaved but well-maintained country driveway suitable for a normal car. As we are surrounded by nature, insects and local wildlife are part of the countryside experience. Bedroom windows have insect screens, so they can be left open overnight without letting bugs inside. The property is fully off-grid, meaning electricity is generated and stored onsite using solar power rather than supplied by the mains. Most guests do not notice any difference during normal use, but sensible power consumption is appreciated. Electric barbecues, electric vehicle charging and other high-power appliances are not permitted. The grounds are not enclosed, so dogs must be kept on a lead outdoors. We also have a dog and keep her on a lead around guest areas during stays. Mobile reception varies between providers. Fast Starlink Wi-Fi is available throughout much of the property, allowing guests to make calls and communicate over Wi-Fi. Registration Details Exempt
