The Oak provides a bedroom, bathroom, full kitchen, and living space with a sofa bed, while the Log Cabin adds 2 mezzanine bedrooms and a huge sofa bed, creating 3 more sleeping zones. Together they sleep up to 10 guests, with rustic charm, modern comforts, and plenty of space to relax indoors or enjoy the peaceful views outside. The Oak offers a stylish and modern sanctuary filled with natural light. It features a spacious bedroom, luxurious bathroom with a jetted bath, fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living space with a sofa bed. Enjoy peaceful countryside views from every window. The Log Cabin brings rustic charm and serves as your group's entertainment hub. Its open-plan layout includes two elevated king-size sleeping lofts, an exceptionally large sofa bed, kitchenette and bar area, pool table, retro arcade machine and huge retractable 83-inch screen. It's a space full of character and something completely different. Together, the two properties provide plenty of room to gather while giving your group the flexibility of two separate spaces. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS The Oak & The Log Cabin sleep up to 10 guests across a combination of a traditional bedroom, elevated sleeping lofts and sofa beds. These quirky loft spaces are a fun and distinctive feature that many guests love, but may not suit guests with limited mobility or those who prefer conventional bedrooms. GUEST ACCESS You will have exclusive access to both The Oak and The Log Cabin for the duration of your stay, including two private wood-fired hot tubs and your private outdoor areas. As the properties are located within our family's private estate, you may occasionally see us or our children within the wider shared outdoor areas. THE NEIGHBOURHOOD Nestled in a beautiful rural setting, our estate offers a peaceful escape surrounded by countryside and wildlife. Oakenshaw Nature Reserve, with its ponds, lakes and walking areas, is only around a 5-minute walk away. Durham City and Bishop Auckland are also within easy driving distance, giving you the best of peaceful countryside surroundings with attractions, restaurants and amenities nearby. IMPORTANT INFORMATION LOG CABIN COOKING FACILITIES: The Log Cabin does not have a conventional full-size oven. It has a combination microwave with oven function, double Ninja air fryer, hob and outdoor BBQ. You also have full access to the fully equipped kitchen in The Oak, which has conventional cooking facilities. WOOD-FIRED HOT TUBS: You'll have two private wood-fired hot tubs to enjoy. Each has a hot-water tap so it can be filled fresh when you wish to use it. We provide wood, kindling, paper and firelighters for your first session.
