Description

Adorable little old fisherman's house, typical and adjoining, exceptional view facing the sea, renovated with charm, simplicity and comfort. Sea view on each floor, private terrace accessible by stairs, living room, 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, laundry room. Beachfront and harbor location in the village of Port-en-Bessin, ideal for visiting the landing beaches, 10 minutes from Omaha Beach and Bayeux. Namely, the village is under construction in 2026-27. The space 🌊 Welcome! You will stay in a very charming old little fishermen's house, ideal for guests sensitive to authentic maritime atmospheres, mixing old-fashioned charm, simplicity and careful details, touches of contemporary design. Modest outside because it is subject to the marine elements, cozy inside. In a word, this house has a soul: a fabulous sea view, the patina of its age and charm. For your comfort and for our logistics, we limit the capacity this season to a maximum of 2 people (2 adults or 1 adult and 1 child) even if the house is equipped for 4. There are 3 of you, contact me! However, you will have the whole house with its living room, its 2 double bedrooms each with bathroom or shower and toilet, its outdoor space and its laundry room. Thank you for temporarily respecting this maximum number of 2 people. The house is not recommended for young children or people with reduced mobility because of the steep stairs to the terrace and the lack of a child barrier. You can live there by doing everything on foot: fishmonger and bakeries 3 minutes away, departure of hiking trails and the Vélomaritime from the village, golf. Or on the contrary, you will choose to make it your home base to leave the day to crisscross the region and return only in the evening to enjoy the sunsets from the terrace. As indicated in the presentation, the village (and more specifically the waterfront) will be the subject of road works in 2026-27 due to climatic hazards. We provide you with all the information below so that you can book with full knowledge of this particular context. Good news: our dock will be little impacted in 2026, more so in 2027. 🏠 The house On the dock side, facing the sea and the outer harbor: push the gray gate, climb a few steps… you are at home. • Ground Floor Living room with fully equipped open kitchen (glass-ceramic hobs, large width oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, filter coffee machine and Nespresso, complete dishes, etc.), dining area with TV, living area with sofa and armchairs, fiber, Marshall speaker, vinyl turntable. • 1st Floor Reading landing with beautiful sea view, books. bedroom with 2 single beds 90 × 200 side by side, small wardrobe, Marshall speaker, shower room with sink and toilet. • 2nd floor (attic of good height) Very bright bedroom with five skylights, sea view, 160 × 200 bed, wardrobe closet, bathroom open to the bedroom, waxed concrete with sea view bathtub, sink, closed toilet. 🌅 The exterior In front of the house, on the dock side, the raised terrace with garden furniture offers spectacular views of the sea, tides, fishing boats, seagulls and changing skies — a truly magical place. The terrace is accessible by an original (steep) staircase of 7 steps that will not be suitable for young children left unattended (no barrier) or for people with mobility difficulties. Below, a laundry room (washing machine, dryer, sink) also allows you to store bicycles (tight), golf clubs, etc. Three Tolix high stools are installed in front of the large bay window overlooking the sea to contemplate the tides, draw, read or play. The exterior renovation and exterior painting will be redone in 2027 or 28. ⚓ Port & Village Life A 2-minute walk across the quay will take you to the fish market to buy fresh fish and shellfish for direct sale, as well as restaurants, breweries and food shops: bakeries, delicatessens, shops, supermarket, bank, post office... Market on Sunday morning in the village. 📍 Perfect location to discover the D-Day beaches while enjoying the life of a small fishing port and radiating in Normandy. You will be: - 10 min from Arromanches, Omaha Beach and Bayeux - 1.5 hours from Mont-Saint-Michel, Cotentin and Deauville-Honfleur - at the start of the Vélomaritime and hiking trails - 3 min from Port-en-Bessin golf course, 8 min from paragliding - The large sandy beaches (Omaha, Arromanches, Asnelles, etc.) are about 10 km away. ✅ Amenities Fiber Wi-Fi • TV • Marshall Bluetooth speakers • Turntable Dishwasher • washing machine • dryer • ironing board and iron Nespresso coffee machine + filter coffee maker • kettle • full dishes Well heated house (electric), recent windows Welcome products provided for arrival (tea, coffee, salt, oil/vinegar, soap, ALGOTHERM shower-hair gel, toilet paper, cleaning products, laundry...). Bed linen provided (beds made on arrival) Towels provided • hairdryer Crib and high chair on request 🚗 Parking Free parking in the village and on the dock at the foot of the house (unless there are restrictions). Several free public parking lots nearby. It's easy to walk. !️ Things to know before you book - The house is currently rented for a maximum of 2 people, 1 child counts as 1 adult, even if it is equipped for 4. - Due to its stairs and typical fishermen's house layout, the house is not suitable for people with severe mobility difficulties (only the terrace staircase is steep; those of the house are comfortable). - The back overlooks a private courtyard for the exclusive use of the neighbor, it is quiet and without nuisance. But no regrets, you will prefer a thousand times to enjoy our terrace on the sea side. - Beach towels not provided. It's up to you to bring your own. - The house is non-smoking and no pets are allowed. -👷 Information – Public Works Port life & works 2026-2027 Port-en-Bessin is a small, active and lively fishing port. The Department is currently carrying out major work to strengthen the port (2026-2027) to protect the coastline and infrastructure from climatic and natural hazards (tides, storms, resurgences, landslides). Good news on March 4, 2026: the work will not affect the dock at the foot of the house in 2026 (parking on our dock will be maintained, no machinery at this location). The work will take place in phases in other areas of the port, jetties and village, with the presence of machinery and some temporary traffic and parking adaptations depending on the period. The fabulous sea view from the house and the typical activity of the fishing port (comings and goings of boats, fish market, shops, etc.) will remain very present. For my part, I will do my utmost to inform my guests in advance in a completely transparent manner, as I do here, so that everyone books knowing the context of the port in operation and under construction. And I will redouble my small welcome attentions to my guests. 🌟 The icing on the cake Since 2009, this house has been the subject of numerous reports in the decoration press (Art & Décoration...) and is referenced in travel guides renowned for its charm and authentic slow living spirit. It feels very good… and it is often difficult to leave. ❌ Rules of use No Smoking permitted Pets not allowed 2 people maximum (children count as adults) Guest access We recommend that our guests have a vehicle during their stay to be able to go to the large sandy beaches nearby, discover the landing sites and the pretty town of Bayeux. However, on site, all shops are within walking distance with access to hiking trails. You can therefore stay facing the sea, without using your car on a daily basis. The walk at the foot of the cliffs is currently closed following landslides, but the fabulous trail entirely created by the Vélomaritime for pedestrians and cyclists is a must. You can get to Omaha Beach on foot or by bike (+10 km). Transportation: - Car: 3 hours from Paris via the A13 - Train: 2h15 from Paris Saint Lazare -> Bayeux by Train + 10 min taxi or car rental (or 2h from Paris Saint Lazare -> Caen + 35 min car rental) - Plane: Caen Carpiquet Airport (30 minutes), direct flights from Lyon, Montpellier, Nice, Marseille, Toulouse, Corsica Deauville Airport (1.5 hours) - Ferry from England and Ireland to Ouistreham (40 min) or Cherbourg (1h10) - Free public parking throughout the village (and occasionally on the dock at the foot of the house) If you have bikes, you can store them on site in the laundry room. Other things to note - Upon checkout, as is customary, the dishes must be clean and tidy, the dishwasher emptied, the fridge emptied, the garbage cans sorted and disposed of in the indicated place, the furniture in its original place. The rest of the cleaning is done by us. Thank you for your consideration. - Port works information (see in the listing description) I will be your contact person, I am Laurence, the owner of this house and other cottages, and I have been happily hosting guests on Airbnb for many years to ensure you have the best stay possible. I remain at your disposal for any questions. See you soon. Registration Details 14515000126PO
