Description

Adorable little old fishermen's house, typical and semi-detached, exceptional sea view, renovated with charm and comfort. Sea view on each floor, private terrace accessible by stairs, living room, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, laundry room. Nice waterfront and harbor location in the village of Port-en-Bessin and ideal for visiting the landing beaches, 10 minutes from Omaha Beach and Bayeux. For rent for one person, a couple or a small family. Remote work possible in front of the sea! The space 🌊 Welcome! You will stay in a very charming little fishermen's house that will be particularly suitable for guests sensitive to maritime atmospheres, mixing old-fashioned charm, more contemporary design, simplicity and careful details. In a word, this house has a "soul", a fabulous sea view, the charm and patina due to its age. We live there as if on an island, doing everything on foot, fish and bakery 3 minutes walk, departure of hiking and cycling trails from the village. You can also make it your home base and spend the day exploring the region and return in the evening to enjoy the sunsets from the terrace. On the dock side, facing the sea and the outer harbor, push the gray gate, go up a few steps and you enter the house: On the ground floor, enjoy the living room with fully equipped kitchenette (glass-ceramic hobs and large width oven, fridge, 6-place dishwasher, filter coffee maker, Nespresso coffee maker, dishes...), dining area and seating area with sofa, 2 armchairs, TV, fiber, Marshall speaker. On the 1st floor: Reading area with beautiful sea view, bedroom for 2 people (2 single beds side by side 90*200), Marshall speaker and shower room/sink/toilet. On the 2nd floor (high attic), very bright bedroom with 5 roof windows, sea view with 1 double bed 160 x 200 for 2 people and open bathroom in polished concrete with sea view bathtub, sink and closed toilet. In front of the house on the dock side, the raised terrace with garden furniture to contemplate the sea, the tides, the boats returning from fishing, the flight of seagulls, the changing skies, a wonderful place! The terrace is accessible from an original (steep) staircase of 7 steps. Below, a laundry room (washing machine, dryer, sink) in which you can also store your bikes, golf clubs, etc. 3 Tolix high stools allow you to sit in front of the large bay window overlooking the sea to contemplate the landscape, draw, play, etc. Crossing the quay, 2 minutes away, you will reach the fish market to buy fresh fish and shellfish (and scallops in season) for sale directly from the fisherman or wholesaler, also along the quays of restaurants, breweries and all food shops, 2 bakeries, delicatessens, gifts, marine fashion, bank, post office, supermarket etc. Sunday morning market in the village. 📍 The location is ideal for discovering the landing beaches while enjoying the life of the small fishing port and radiating in Normandy. You will be: - 10 min drive to Arromanches, Omaha Beach and the beautiful city of Bayeux, a must visit. - 1.5 hours from Mont-Saint-Michel, Cotentin and Deauville-Honfleur - Coastal cycle path and hiking trails from the village - Bike path to reach Bayeux by bike - 3 minutes from Port-en-Bessin Golf and 8 minutes from paragliding 🏖️ Swimming The large sandy beaches are 10 km away (Omaha Beach, Arromanches, Asnelles, etc.). Numerous sports activities nearby. ✅ House amenities - WiFi (fiber) -4 TV - 2 Marshall Bluetooth speakers -Dishwasher -Washer & dryer - Nespresso coffee machine + filter coffee machine + kettle... and all the necessary dishes as at home - The house is well heated (electric) and the windows are recent - Welcome products available (tea, coffee capsules, salt, oil/vinegar, soap, shower gel, shampoo, toilet paper, cleaning products, laundry, dishwasher tablets, paper towels etc...) to help you out on arrival - Bed linen provided and beds prepared before your arrival - Towels and bath mats provided. Per person: 2 bath towels + 1 washcloth + 1 guest towel, slippers (one size) - Kitchen towels and hand towels, new sponge For stays of 15 days, fresh extra linens can be provided free of charge. -Baby bed and high chair on request 🚗 Parking Parking is free in the village (and depending on the period possible at the foot of the house on the dock side). Several free public parking lots nearby. Luggage drop-off possible. Everything is very close and can easily be done on foot. ❌ Rule-sets Non-Smoking Pets not allowed 4 people maximum (including baby) The icing on the cake! Since 2009, this house has been the subject of numerous reports in the decor press (Art&Décoration, etc.) and referenced in travel guides renowned for its charm and authentic "slow living" spirit. We felt very good there, it is authentic and it is difficult to leave. Guest access We recommend that our guests have a vehicle during their stay to be able to go to the large sandy beaches nearby, discover the landing sites and the pretty town of Bayeux. However, on site, all shops are within walking distance with access to hiking trails. You can therefore stay facing the sea, without using your car on a daily basis. Transportation: - Car: 3 hours from Paris via the A13 - Train: 2h15 from Paris Saint Lazare -> Bayeux by Train + 10 min taxi or car rental (or 2h from Paris Saint Lazare -> Caen + 35 min car rental) - Plane: Caen Carpiquet Airport (30 minutes), direct flights from Lyon, Montpellier, Nice, Marseille, Toulouse, Corsica Deauville Airport (1.5 hours) - Ferry from England and Ireland to Ouistreham (40 min) or Cherbourg (1h10) - Free public parking throughout the village (and occasionally on the dock at the foot of the house) If you have bikes, you can store them on site in the laundry room. Other things to note - Because of its stairs, the house will not be suitable for people with severe mobility difficulties. Only the terrace staircase is steep, the other stairs in the house are very comfortable. - The back of the house overlooks a quiet private courtyard (reserved for the neighbor), but you will prefer a thousand times to enjoy the raised terrace facing the sea on the quay side with this exceptional view. It's a magical place! - Beach towels are not provided but we provide all bath towels, bed linen and kitchen towels. - Upon checkout, as is customary, the dishes must be clean and tidy, the dishwasher emptied, the fridge emptied, the garbage cans sorted and disposed of in the indicated place, the furniture in its original place. The rest of the cleaning is done by us. Thank you for your consideration. - Port works information: Port reinforcement work is scheduled for 2026 and 2027, with the aim of sustainably protecting the village from tides and storms. They will take place during the day only (no night work, no work on Sundays, or in July-August on the dock). During this time: - public parking will remain free in the village traffic and parking may be adjusted from time to time - construction machinery may be visible in some areas The activity of the port and the village (passage of fishing boats visible from the house and the terrace, shops, direct sale of the fisherman under the hall) will remain normal. I will be your contact person, I am Laurence, the owner of this house and other cottages, and I have been welcoming guests on Airbnb with happiness and kindness for many years to ensure you have the best possible stay. I remain at your disposal for any questions. See you soon. Registration Details 14515000126PO
