Charming Danube house on the banks of the river in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Wachau. Fully equipped, large garden, fire and barbecue area, sports equipment, games. Right on the Danube bike path & the Romantic Road – nature, culture, sports & relaxation in one! Donaubade beach right in front of the house. Ideal for groups, families, and companies, as well as for sports, yoga, and club events. Unique and original furnishings. It is a very old and simple house, therefore also the reasonable price. The space The house is partly 100 years old and was renovated with private funds after the floods. Therefore, much is not perfect and very simple. But that is exactly what makes its rustic, special charm, but it should be said in advance. It's not a flawless place but incomparable, honest and of course beautiful. In the bedroom, 2 people can sleep in a double bed and 2 more by the pull-out bed. In the living room, there is a sofa bed that can be pulled out for 2 additional guests. In total, the house can accommodate 6 people, and then it gets tight as the entire building consists of the bedroom, the kitchen-living room and the bathroom. We see ourselves as an environmentally conscious accommodation, value a conscious and sustainable use of resources and repair instead of buying or rebuilding everything. This also preserves the original character of the house. Guest access The entire house with the entire garden is completely available for our guests without restrictions. Other things to note - Very easy to reach by public transport by bus and train. - For each person, a tourist tax of €2.60 per night is to be paid. - Sports equipment, games and darts can be used at your own risk. So that you can enjoy your time in the Wachau, one of the most beautiful cultural landscapes in Austria and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we have put together a few excursion tips for you. Culture & History: Venus of Willendorf – You can marvel at the world-famous Stone Age figure in the small museum in Willendorf. Castle ruins Hinterhaus (Spitz) – An imposing castle ruin with stunning views over the Danube and the vineyards. Spitz an der Donau – A picturesque wine village with a historic center and cozy wine taverns. Dürnstein Castle – Known for the captivity of Richard the Lionheart, plus the pretty town of Dürnstein with its baroque collegiate church. Melk Abbey – A baroque masterpiece and one of the most famous monasteries in Europe. Schönbühel Castle – imposing and located directly on the Danube. Artstetten Palace – Habsburg history, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, beautiful park. Nature & active: Danube beaches – small natural beaches, for example directly in Aggsbach or at many other places along the Danube. Hiking on the World Heritage Trail Wachau – numerous stages through vineyards, forests and villages. Directly in the village, ideal for walks with a view. Danube Cycle Path – in my opinion the most beautiful bike tour in all of Austria, right along the river. Start right in front of the house. Enjoyment & experience: Boat trip on the Danube – e.g. from Krems to Melk, magnificent views from the water. Apricot blossom & apricot products – depending on the season, delicious specialties from the region.
