Charming Danube house on the banks of the river in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Wachau. Fully equipped, large garden, fire and barbecue area, sports equipment, games. Right on the Danube bike path & the Romantic Road – nature, culture, sports & relaxation in one! Donaubade beach right in front of the house. Ideal for groups, families, and companies, as well as for sports, yoga, and club events. Unique and original furnishings. It is a very old and simple house, therefore also the reasonable price. The space !! ATTENTION !! For bookings during the cold season! It is a summer house and therefore not insulated. Although there are radiators, it also gets colder inside the house. Parts of the house are 100 years old and were renovated with private funds after the floods. Therefore, many things are not perfect and are kept very simple. However, that is precisely what gives it its rustic, special charm, but I wanted to mention that in advance. It is not a flawless place, but it is incomparable, honest and naturally beautiful. In the bedroom, 2 people can sleep in the double bed and 2 more on the pull-out bed. In the living room, there is a sofa bed for 2 additional guests. In total, the house can accommodate 6 people, although it then becomes a bit cramped, since the entire building consists of the bedroom, the kitchen-living room and the bathroom. We see ourselves as an environmentally conscious accommodation, value a mindful and sustainable use of resources, and repair things instead of buying or building everything new. This also preserves the original character of the house. Guest access The entire house with its spacious garden is available for our guests to use without restrictions. Other things to note - Public very easy to reach by bus and train. - Sports equipment, games and darts are welcome to be used at your own risk. So that you can enjoy your time in the Wachau, one of the most beautiful cultural landscapes in Austria and UNESCO World Heritage Site, we have put together a few excursion tips for you. Cultural & History: Venus of Willendorf – The world famous Stone Age figure can be admired in the small museum in Willendorf. Burgruine Hinterhaus (Spitz) – An imposing castle ruin with stunning views over the Danube and vineyards. Spitz an der Donau – A picturesque wine village with a historic center and cozy Heurigen. Dürnstein Castle – Known for the captivity of Richard Löwenherz, plus the pretty town of Dürnstein with baroque collegiate church. Melk Abbey – A baroque masterpiece and one of the most famous monasteries in Europe. Schönbühel Castle – imposing and located directly on the Danube. Artstetten Castle – Habsburg history, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, beautiful park. Nature & Active: Danube districts – small natural swimming beaches, such as directly in Aggsbach or in many other places along the Danube. Hiking on the Welterbesteig Wachau – numerous stages through vineyards, forests and villages. Right in the village, ideal for walks with a view. Danube bike path – in my opinion the most beautiful bike ride in all of Austria, right along the river. Start right in front of the house. Enjoyment & experience: Boat trip on the Danube – e.g. from Krems to Melk, magnificent views from the water. Apricot flower & apricot products – delicious local specialties depending on the season.
