Description

Bleikodden cabin is a gem located on the southern tip of the beautiful and historical Helgøya in the middle of freshwater lake Mjøsa. Indulge yourself in the good things in life - staying in an exclusive, and very private property and home on the beach on Norway's biggest lake. The atmosphere is rustic and relaxed, in this newly renovated 90-year-old cabin. Welcome to amazing south facing beachfront cabin with stunning views of lake Mjøsa, Hovinsholm, Minnesund, Stange and Skreia. The space Enjoy Norwegian cultural landscape by the lake-side. To the north lies Hovinsholm and Hovelsrud farm. Through spring, summer to autumn this is a good place to be. Go on adventures by canoe, try your fishing luck, swim, or read a book by the lakeside while listening to the tranquillity of nature. A coral of trees by the beach makes a perfect place to hang out in the hammocks. There is a table and bonfire by the beach, a Weber BBQ grill, and several outdoor tables in different places around the property. The place is perfect for a family or 2 couples. You will have full access to the living room, kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms with queen size beds, and one office between them that can be turned into a small bedroom with a max 190 cm mattress we have for the bench. Each bedroom have lake views, and the main master bedroom has a double door leading out into the garden towards the lake. Windows in bedrooms have blinds and mosquito nets. The living room is spacious and decorated with Afghan rugs. The cabin is designed by Rolf Prag and 1940/50 style furniture adds to the atmosphere. There are also board games for you to play and enjoy. The living room comes with a beautiful view of lake Mjøsa. The scenery keeps changing through the day as well as through the seasons. The kitchen is equipped with a gas oven with 4 gas burners and a gas oven, other kitchen utensils such as mix master, juice machine, waffle maker, rice cooker, wok, pots and pans. There is a spacious fridge/freezer. The bathroom floor is heated. There is a Cinderella incinerating toilet. Shower, sink, washing machine and hairdryer. You will have access to the veranda areas on both sides of the house. The property is about 1 acre/5 mål, and you have access to all outside areas here. There is one room in the house that is locked up that you cannot access. There are 2 other buildings on the property that are not available to you. These buildings are a workshop and a boathouse. Guest access You can drive to the door. The cabin lies at the end of the 800 meter long dirt road so there is no through traffic. Road is shared with our 3 neighbours, including children, pets, wild deer and sometimes a small herd of Shetland ponies. Please drive slowly and carefully and no faster than 10K/h Parking is on the property. Other things to note We might come by to cut the grass while you are there, but we will always communicate with you to let you know. The fire extinguisher is located in the bathroom next to the Cinderella toilet. There are 2 fire alarms mounted in the ceiling, one in the main bedroom, and one in the hall outside the other 2 smaller bedrooms. First aid kit is in the bathroom under the sink.
