The Griffoul Garden

At the foot of the village of Nébias in Cathar country, 5 minutes from the Green Labyrinth trail, stage of the GR 367, charming little house with garden comfortably furnished for 2 people for a stay in the middle of nature between forest and mountain with landscapes that have remained authentic and wild. The space The Griffoul garden is a small village house located in the garden of a rural family home dating from 1787. During your stay, the large house is in principle not occupied. So you can enjoy the garden and terrace privately. The Jardin du Griffoul house consists of a main room with open kitchen, a bedroom with a large double bed of 160 cm/200 and a bathroom equipped with a shower and toilet. In addition, there is a veranda to enjoy the stars and the view of the garden (light under the curtain near the refrigerator). Heating and domestic hot water are provided by an individual boiler. The bathroom has its reversible air conditioning system. Mosquito nets are installed on the French window of the main room and bedroom. A 16/9 TV with TNT channels, a Hi Fi Luxman amplifier with 3.5 mm mini jack connector to stream music from your phone and a High Speed Fiber WiFi connection are at your disposal. However, we thank you for avoiding outdoor noise after 10 p.m. and before 8 a.m. A little history: the Griffoul is a public fountain, called a gushing fountain. Originally, the name "grifol" was given in Occitania to a fountain adorned with the griffin (mythical animal half-eagle, half-lion). This fountain is located in the Grand Rue which is parallel to our garden. Guest access At the bottom of the village, access to your rental is through a small gate near which you will find a lockbox with a remote control that allows you to light the garden in case of arrival at night (do not forget to turn off). The gate lighting is automatic but not the garden lighting to date. Follow the Japanese steps, climb the few stone steps, continue on the terrace, to go around the house of the Griffoul Garden, the gray door is on the left. The light is to the left of the second entrance door with the windows. The entire little house of the Jardin du Griffoul is at your disposal as well as the garden, the stone and wooden terraces. **Please do not go to the garden next door or take the small gravel passage between the 2 large houses.** Other things to note A bar and restaurant is located in the upper part of the village. For shopping, conventional and organic supermarkets are available in Quillan and in the Espéraza/Couiza business area located below in the Aude Valley (12/20 min).
