Head just 3 miles north of the village and you can be walking in Cropton Forest. Travel another 18 miles and you’ll reach the fishing town of Whitby or you can travel there by steam train on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, passing by beautiful moorland scenery. A little further down the coast visit Scarborough (23 miles) with its two sandy beaches, amusements and castle.
